BAD GIFT: God gives you the desires of your heart: both good and evil.
Be Careful What You Wish For
“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
—Psalm 37:4
A recent discussion centered around a girl we all once knew and who we all generally liked, being cheerful though headstrong and rebellious.
She had recently gotten married.
For the third time.
The first reaction was “Oh, poor girl.”
The second, while true, sounds less charitable: “Wonder what he has that she wants?”
While the second reaction provoked several chuckles, the discussion focused on the first. It was decided that God, just as Psalm 37 declares, really does give people the desires of their heart.
However, to those who delight in the LORD, He gives one set of blessings according to their right motives. To those who despise and shun the LORD, He gives quite another set of gifts.
“God is not a man, that he should lie”
—Number 23:19
And God does not lie: the desires He gives to those who do not know Him are almost always EXACTLY what they wish for.
Because the wicked mostly desire earthly, carnal things.
“For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind”
—Hosea 8:7
God, and later Jesus Christ, continually cautions believers to ask for good things. Sometimes, God also gives believers what they think they want as a method chastisement: to teach a lesson.
“Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.”
—Proverbs 25:16
Because they have placed their faith in the desires and rewards of this evil, fallen world, the wicked ask for the things of this world.
And the things of this world are bound to disappoint.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
—1 John 2:15
The wicked are deceived: they often believe that because they have achieved wealth, or power or knowledge while shaking their fist at God, this is proof that God does not exist. Or that He is powerless.
Quite to the contrary.
It’s surprising how often the wicked get the desires of their hearts and then commit suicide because of it.
How often do people engage in apparently self-destructive behaviors after getting what they say they want?
How many of the rich and celebrated try to drink and medicate their troubles away (when, to the outside, casual observer, they have no troubles)?
How many times has the reader known someone who schemed, planned and labored long and hard for what he thought he wanted, only to complain bitterly later because he got what he thought he wanted?
One of God’s judgments is to give men what they desire–even when those desires run counter to God’s Word. Even if those desires are achieved through illegitimate supernatural power.
This is a form of judgment–though the wicked HATE the idea of being judged by God.
As far as the discussion of the girl we all once knew, it was decided to pray for her salvation.
Otherwise, three marriages will likely just be a beginning of her troubles.
“He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.”

It’s not too late to wish for the good things.
It’s not too late to wish for the things which are not of this world.
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”

Gallup gives up the horse race – They claim it’s to concentrate on issues polling, which makes sense. The Corporate Media/government has enough voices lying about who’s ahead and who’s behind. What it needs is more authority on what people are thinking about the issues.
Corporate media polling is more about shaping what you think than reporting what other may think.
In less polite terms: it’s all about lying.
But it’s scientific lying.

Zombie walks, at least one ‘haunted house‘ in every town with a population over a couple thousand and a season of Halloween which now stretches through the entire month of October–and threatens to extend further.

September Sees Record Gun Sales – Gun manufacturers have had no better friend in the White House than Barack Obama. They have set multiple sales records for guns, ammo and other weaponry under his rule.
The government will zero in on all sorts of things: driving around in cars without your papers, checkpoints, any person in any public place for any reason whatsoever.
And it will ALL fall on the shoulders of Americans who will have had NOTHING to do with the terror attack.

When the reader sees “Why?” or “How?” in the headline–occasionally “What” is used–that which follows will be a fairy tale, a narrative, a bedtime story spun by the media for the benefit of the media’s master. “Why” usually denotes an on-going narrative; “How” signifies a story line which explains past events. Not all narratives begin with “How” or “Why.” However, the most in-your-face, over-the-top ones usually do. ALL political “news” is narrative.
The case for open borders – Actually, the advocates for open borders have pleaded their case in the Court of What’s Been Happening for the last 30 years or so.
It’s not only a loser. It’s an unpopular loser.
The author’s argument is “A better option than exclusion would be to restrict migrants’ eligibility for benefits.”
Apparently, a government which has proved totally incapable of the far-easier task of keeping illegals from crossing the purposely-defenseless border will do a bang-up job of identifying and keeping those same illegals off the benefit rolls.
But then, most of the high-profile illegal immigrant ‘advocates’ already know all of this. Their job is to provide a counterweight to common sense and prudence–and to distract and kill time while the hordes continue north.
It all seems part of a plan to stoke anger against illegal immigrants for a future smack-down of epic proportions.
