Apocalypse: End Times Only Bad for God’s Enemies

END TIMES DESTRUCTION: Only for the wicked and the lost.
END TIMES DESTRUCTION: Only for the wicked and the lost.

“God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.”
Nahum 1:2

Whenever war, financial collapse or any other catastrophic event looms on the horizon, people become very uneasy.

Apocalypse.

Armageddon.

End of days.

Last days.

End times.

A great many believe the end times are all gloom and doom.

Especially the ‘doom’ part.

And the Bible’s many, many descriptions of the end times are top-heavy with descriptions of the long-awaited (by believers) judgments of God upon a wicked and unbelieving world.

“For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.”
Isaiah 13:10-11

So that’s the gist of it all: the end times are a time for the comeuppance of the wicked, sinful and lost.

For believers, the end times are a times of justice and final rewards.

The unbelieving world will be judged. In fact, all of the world (except a few) will be judged.

“…and the whole world lieth in wickedness.”
1 John 5:19

The media, the churches, the entertainment industry and the prophecy-mongers ALL promote the idea that the end times mean destruction and doom; a time to be afraid.

And all of that is true: IF one is not saved.

IN FACT, wicked and deceived men will use fear to help herd the lost into their proper end times places.

But make no mistake: there will be destruction.

And the destruction will come on a day when people are just “trying to live their lives.”

“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.”
Luke 17:26-30

For the wicked and lost, the end times ARE a time of destruction and woe which comes upon the earth without warning (other than the last 4000 years of God warning the world through His Word).

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”
1 Thessalonians 5:3

The times are so bad, wicked men howl when judgment (which they were deceitfully convinced would NEVER happen) finally arrives.

“Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.”
Isaiah 13:6

And really, that is what it all comes down to: IF one is a believer, one has to face the perils of deceived men and their schemes.

And there will be perils: the Bible speaks of believers who lay down their lives for the testimony of Jesus. However, if one lays down their life for Jesus, they will be promoted out of this dying world and into a sure eternity.

BUT, IF one is a non-believer, one must not only face the perils of men (evil men often do not keep their word), BUT one must also face a sure eternity judged by a just and angry God.

EVEN (perhaps ESPECIALLY) if one does not believe what God’s Word declares must come to pass.

“And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.”
Psalm 9:8

Are you a mocker and scoffer?

Are you concerned about the end times?

You don’t have to be.

Don’t gamble your eternity on the deceived words of men.

There’s yet still time.

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”
2 Corinthians 4:3

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
