“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
–Hebrews 11:1
To MOST of those who walk about the face of the earth, there is NOTHING more real than that which can be experienced by the senses: that which can be touched or felt; that which is heard or seen; that which is tasted and/or that which can be experienced by smelling.
IN FACT, whatever can be experienced through one’s senses seems so REAL, so TRUE; so TRUE TO LIFE that what is experienced by the senses is commonly considered–by all who are focused on this world and the things of the world–as EVIDENCE.
HOWEVER, God’s Word informs the reader that there is another form of EVIDENCE: that of FAITH.
The FAITH referred to in Hebrews 11:1 is TRUE faith: most likely the form of FAITH with which most men have the least–if any–experience.
When a man undergoes the transformation of the new (spiritual) birth, he is made to understand just how REAL faith is.
The faith of a true Christian is perhaps MORE REAL than anything which can be experienced through one’s senses.
This sets up a HUGE difference in point of view between those who are of THIS world and those few who are NOT of this world: between the Christian and the non-believer.
The Christian UNDERSTANDS that FAITH is substantial; that FAITH is very REAL; that faith–true FAITH–driven by the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit–trumps all and any other form of, what is considered to be , “evidence.”
The poor soul who has NOT experienced the new birth has to make do with that which can be experienced by his VERY unreliable senses.
STILL, by being confident and self-assured in what he DOES NOT know, the worldly man laughs at FAITH as evidence–and ridicules any who hold that belief.
Perhaps IF the worldly man was aware of how much of, what he considers to be, “his world” was deception, lies and tall tales, he would totally focus on obtaining a NEW form of evidence?
A form of evidence MORE reliable than that on which he NOW so heavily depends?
HOW does the reader feel about FAITH?
IS the reader’s only experience with faith through those Sunday social centers called the “churches?“
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
