“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
–Hebrews 11:6
During a recent discussion on why someone would want to forsake the pleasures and pitfalls of this world for the promises of the unseen next one, a common tactic–used by the worldly–was employed.
“I think I’m gonna wait and see. There’s no harm in wanting to make sure, is there?”
One is tempted to ask, “What are you waiting for? Do you think you’ll get a better deal elsewhere?”
But one doesn’t.
Instead, the perils of waiting until it’s too late are offered.
- Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

- God’s Judgments Are Final: Do Not Delay
- Sincerely Seek the Mercy of the LORD: Do Not Wait, Do Not Delay
- Christianity: The Ultimate in Delayed Gratification
One of those perils–particularly in the end times–is that God’s seemingly endless mercy will not always be available to the lost.
Tender Mercies of the Lord: Will Not Always Be Available
Another peril–particularly in the end times–is that, at some point, God will decide that enough time has been made available for the lost.
At some point, God will know that everyone has made their choices.
At some point, God is going to say, “You want to believe lies, okay, I’ll not only let you believe tall tales and lies, but I will take away your choice whether to believe them or not.”
God does this by sending those who do not have a love of the truth a STRONG DELUSION.
And ALL who believe lies shall perish.
“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:10-12
FINALLY, it is pointed out that what will become VERY important is GOD’s intentions, not MAN’s.
And God’s intentions for creating man is that God is looking for a people who will FREELY choose Him over everything else they could pick.
God is looking for a people.
He is looking for a people who freely choose Him when there are other, more carnal choices surrounding them. He is looking for a people who choose Him by faith, when the rewards of choosing God are afar off and not easily seen (at least to those using their physical eyesight).
“as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
—2 Corinthians 6:16
—GOD’S PLAN: God is Looking for a People
God is looking for a people who will choose HIm over money.
God is looking for a people who will choose Him over the things of this world.
God is looking for a people who have FAITH that God will abide by His promises.
God is NOT looking for people who hedge their bets; who grudgingly choose God AFTER every other option is closed.
God is NOT looking for people who see God as PLAN B.
God is NOT looking for people who want FIRE INSURANCE (a way to keep from burning in hell after time has run out) when it is evident that a forever eternity in hell beckons.
A person is saved from eternal damnation by the grace (mercy) of God through FAITH.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
–Ephesians 2:8-9
Because modern man has been fed a line about “choosing God” or “making a choice for Jesus,” modern man believes that HE gets to make the choice.
WRONG.
God has ALWAYS made the choice.
Man can be saved IF he demonstrates FAITH.
So, what does the reader have: faith or fire insurance?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
