We didn’t need any confirmation of what we wrote yesterday, but nevertheless, sometimes confirmation comes…

NOTE: Sheer repetition of a vile and noxious story will tend to dull the senses of the listener/reader after a while.  Case in point: the buffoonish antics of Anthony Weiner and the non-stop, breathless reporting of such by the vile and noxious Corporate Media.

This case is a great study of how the Corporate Media promotes something or someone by pretending to attack it. Weiner has been provided millions of dollars in free publicity and name recognition by an obliging Corporate Media.  All under the guise of being attacked by a media which is SHOCKED!–which is why he will undoubtedly win the race to be  NYC’s next mayor.

The idea is to get the average American to lower the bar for what they believe is outrageous or unacceptable behavior–while at the same time providing a never-ending stream of reverse role models for youngsters. The next time a politician gets caught in similar circumstances, a jaded public will shrug it off with a “We’ve seen this before.  Show us something new!”  The public will argue over whether the next scandal was as bad as Weiner/Spitzer.

In the process, it will turn out that it will take just a little more to shock the American people and thresholds for what is acceptable in public life by public officials will be lowered to the point that some may speculate that they can’t get any lower.  But they can and they will.  Oh, indeed they will.

Watching The Signs Of The Coming Christ: Why We Watch – The discussion in the comments is an interesting revelation of the many myths and disinformation that has infiltrated the church in the last 100-150 years–especially in America. But then, we were repeatedly warned by Jesus that this would occur.  So many new, unBiblical doctrines have been introduced into the church over the last 150 years and the question is always “How?”

How did this happen?  How did the American Church of 2013 pick up so many doctrines foreign to Christianity only 150 years ago?

Is it because the church is so much closer to God these days?  Is it because the church has received “updates” to the Word of God over that period of time?  Is it because the people who attend Christian Churches are living so much more for Jesus now?
