Following Jesus Christ Will Cause Some Discomfort

discomfort

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
–2TIMOTHY 3:12

When one follows Jesus Christ, one marks himself for discomfort.

It does NOT matter if one was a member in good standing of the world BEFORE one followed Jesus.

It does NOT matter how popular or well-liked one believes himself to be.

It does NOT matter how many ‘friends,’ ‘church friends,’ or REALLY, REALLY close, there-to-the-bitter-end friends with which one surrounds himself.

It does NOT even matter how many one has done ‘favors’ for.

God’s Word declares that ALL that will live godly in CHRIST JESUS SHALL suffer persecution–and persecution involves DISCOMFORT.

And God’s Word IS true.

However,

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
–Romans 8:16-18

So, the followers of Jesus Christ have made a REASONED decision about walking that path of discomfort–NOT a mindless, knuckle-dragging one.

WHAT does the reader believe about the discomfort which attends one’s following Jesus Christ?

It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

The Reckoning

The reckoning

The return of Jesus Christ heralds a RECKONING–not only for the world, but for ALL of the men who dwell in the world.

Many do NOT know what a reckoning is.

reckoning

a settling of accounts

as in a day of reckoning

A ‘settling of accounts:’ that may be the ONE aspect of the last days which is–regardless of what men might claim–understood.

God’s Word declares that MOST men will have their day of reckoning on the day they depart this world; i.e., they die.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”
–Hebrews 9:27

Some men, however, will have their day of reckoning during the time when Jesus Christ returns to earth.

So, the reckoning is a JUDGMENT.

And what is a JUDGMENT but a ‘settling of accounts’?

“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”
–Acts 17:30-31

God’s Word relates that the men who dwell upon the earth will NOT be a happy lot when they see Jesus coming–primarily because Jesus Christ is coming to settle accounts–and except for the FEW who are members of the kingdom of heaven, all other men will be found wanting on that great day of reckoning.

“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”

A few years ago, it was popular in some quarters to display posters and statues of “Buddy Jesus” or “Buddy Christ.”

Buddy was even a star of his own movie!

The icon consists of a statue of Jesus, smiling and winking while pointing at onlookers with one hand and giving the thumbs-up sign with the other hand. Buddy Christ was later produced as an action figure and a bobblehead. The image has since been turned into a popular Internet meme.

(One reason Buddy was popular is because so many thought of Jesus Christ as a loved-up Buddy Christ.)

Actually, Jesus Himself painted a completely different picture.

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.”
–Matthew 10:34

God’s Word paints a much more somber picture of Jesus the Judge.

Jesus will begin His judgment of God’s enemies at the battle of Armageddon.

“And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.”
–Revelation 14:19-20

“Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.”
–Isaiah 63:1-4

So, through all of the chaos and confusion surrounding the last days, one thing stands out: it will be a day of JUDGMENT.

A day of reckoning.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
–2CORINTHIANS 5:10

Many men believe stories they have been told that they will NOT have to EVER face JUDGMENT or a time of reckoning for their behavior in this life.

These men are deceived.

One of the most terrifying times as a human has to be (believing that there will be NO reckoning or settling of accounts for one’s behavior), seeing Jesus Christ return, and waiting one’s turn to be judged.

God’s Word is CLEAR–at least a half-dozen times or more: all men will be judged by God through Jesus Christ and will be held responsible for their actions, good or bad (mostly bad).

There will be judgment.

There will be a reckoning.

“In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.”
–Romans 2:16

IS the reader prepared to face his time of reckoning?

DOES the reader believe Jesus Christ is the Perfect Judge–OR, does the reader believe that Jesus Christ is your buddy?

Witches: Condemn or Pray For?

witchcraft services

HALLOWEEN is the season when the witch is celebrated by the world.

But the unrepentant witch trades an eternity of bliss for a few moments of worldly celebrations.

Should the believer CONDEMN the witch?

OR, should the believer PRAY FOR the witch?

There are many reasons for the TRUE BELIEVER to PRAY FOR the witch.

Why?

1- The believer is commanded by God’s Word to pray for ALL MEN.

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
–1TIMOTHY 2:1,3-4

2- God’s Word condemns NO MAN because of a title or label he wears.

This includes all who are called “witches.

God’s Word condemns ANY and ALL who practice sinful behavior and do NOT thoroughly and completely change their minds (repent) about that behavior.

This includes all who are called “witches.”

3- God’s Word provides HOPE that the witch–who like all humans is provided enough truth to see through the deceptions IF SHE REALLY DESIRES–will utilize those glimpses of the truth to turn from the path she is on and save herself.

“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:10

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
–1TIMOTHY 2:4

4- The witch is a child of rebellion.

BUT, this circumstance is NOT permanent–unless one wishes it to be.

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.”
–1SAMUEL 15:23

5- Jesus came to earth the first time, was crucified and rose from the dead in order to SAVE the witch, not condemn her.

“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”
–1TIMOTHY 1:15

The witch, like almost ALL men, is deceived.

The witch is a FALLIBLE human, who can be eternally saved RIGHT UP UNTIL THE MOMENT SHE DIES–BUT, that witch MUST change the path she is on (repent).

The witch needs prayers from believers, NOT condemnation.

DOES the reader know any witches?

DOES the reader condemn these folk?

OR, does the reader believe these folk need prayer?

It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

No Heroes Among Men During the Last Days

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
–Joshua 1:9

Upon discovering the LORD God, one ALSO discovers that there are NO heroes among men.

There are only those who follow and obey God and enjoy his protection and mercy.

And there is everyone else.

Truth be told, one comes to the realization that any who WERE thought of as ‘heroes’ were only men of the world who mouthed the words of their script which made one mistakenly believe, “Hey, this guy think like I think! This guy is just like me!”

A saying popular in these parts went something like this, “Don’t have any heroes.  Because if you become a Christian, you will soon realize there are no heroes among men.”

The more one KNOWS about the world in which man lives, the more one understands that there are NO heroes.

At least as one previously had understood the term “hero.

The political arena?

NO heroes.

The scientific community?

NO heroes.

The world of entertainment and other cultural pursuits?

NO heroes.

In short, EVERY place one previously had looked for those men who ‘stood above the crowd,’ one discovers that NO MAN ‘stands above the crowd.’

Particularly during the end times.

There are those who lean on God and SURVIVE what is to come.

And then, there is everyone else who dwells upon the earth.

One of the realizations one has, has to do with understanding the way the world REALLY works.

NOT the world according to the many stories which man hears and then repeats.

NOT the world according to the many stories one learns in school.

NOT the world which is promoted by Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media) on an almost DAILY basis.

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world”
–Revelation 12:9

The real world.

IF one has discovered the REAL world which surrounds him–NOT the fake world which has been carefully constructed of various stories over the years–then one has surely discovered that there are NO heroes among men during the last days.

There are only MEN: fallible, easily-deceived men who will do almost ANYTHING because they value their own comfort more than they value almost anything else in this world.

There’s a very good reason the word “hero” does NOT appear in God’s Word even one time.

Man is a creature who values his COMFORT above all other things.

This is true whether that man imagines he controls the world, OR if that man is a member of the milling millions who generally populate the earth.

And, as it is SOON discovered: Attending to one’s COMFORT does NOT leave much time to be heroic.

DOES the reader believe that there are ANY heroes today?

It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
