Another religion had such headlines run about its adherents 75-80 years ago in a country called Germany.  That religion was Judaism.  Looking back at Nazi propaganda, some Americans wonder “How did Germans ever fall for such over-the-top nonsense?”  Do you know Americans who have fallen for the over-the-top Muslim nonsense in 2013?  Now you have your answer.

These articles actually provide a service because they are so over the top, it is fairly easy to recognize them for what they are: blatant appeals to the readers’ emotions.  Most propaganda is more subtle, hence more deceptive and dangerous.

There’s always a reason to employ this type of propaganda.  There’s a reason in 2013 America.  IF the reader can figure out what that reason is, then he will know why American Christians are targeted for so much anti-Muslim propaganda.

Is it because the Corporate Media is concerned; because it so very badly wants to keep Christians in America–which it despises–well-informed?

Wise up.

The Coming Water Shortage: Drinking Water Vanishing from the Planet? – From the archives.  A story originally published by this writer in October 2007 that has been updated with new information from the last six years.  The first in what looks like might be an on-going series.  Looking back through articles from October 2007, there’s several others that appear due for an update.

Among these are “Sanctions could prevent War with Iran,”  “Human Species may Subdivide,” “Fingerprint evidence thrown out as Unscientific”  and one about the Active Denial System (ADS) ray gun that the US military announced was ready for use in Iraq during 2008.  There was another article a few years later about the military’s adapting of the ADS gun for domestic use against “civil disturbances.”

Black Friday is actually a recognized holiday in 17 states –  Did you know that today marks a number of other holidays?  November 29 is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.  Most Americans will be excused if they didn’t get a gift or send out cards.

Friday is also American Indian Heritage Day as well as the day we celebrate (such as it is) Robert E Lee’s Birthday  and Lincoln’s Birthday.  Actually, who has time for shopping what with all the celebrating and wrapping Palestinian and Indian presents?

Wal-Mart uses wristbands to deter holiday shopper melees – Since Thursday was Thanksgiving, every Christian who is alive should have given thanks that Christ’s name is no longer associated with the American Season of Greed, Gluttony and Grossness.  Thanks also should have been given for those old enough to remember an earlier time when Christmas meant something other than spending, spending, spending and buying, buying, buying.

So this is how America now spends its Thanksgiving! Shopping madness starts even earlier as critics say retailers have gone too far – Of course, retailers will go further.  The expression “Grey Thursday” is beginning to get Corporate Media coverage.  Expect to hear much more of that in 2014.  Eventually, Grey Thursday will replace Thanksgiving.

THE COMING U.S. WATER SHORTAGE: LATEST DIRE PREDICTIONS

The next shortage for the United States that some predict? Oil? Gold? Food?

How about water. Those living in parts of many western states already know this as old news, but it’s something new to many parts of the country.

Three states: California, Texas and Forida account for over a quarter of all the water used in the U.S. The government projects that as many as 36 states could face water shortages in the next 5 years.

An epic drought in Georgia threatens the water supply for millions. Florida doesn’t have nearly enough water for its expected population boom. The Great Lakes are shrinking. Upstate New York’s reservoirs have dropped to record lows. And in the West, the Sierra Nevada snowpack is melting faster each year.

The AP story reported that “The government projects that at least 36 states will face water shortages within five years because of a combination of rising temperatures, drought, population growth, urban sprawl, waste and excess.” Since this article was published in October 2007, that “five years” projected date has come and gone (October 2012).

But does the missed deadline mean that the problem of a nationwide water shortage in the USA does not exist?

The AP article also claimed that the cost of renovating and replacing water pipelines alone could cost the nation “$300 billion over 30 years.”

In one way this figure dates the story. In an age where the government runs yearly deficits in the trillions, $300 billion no longer seems like such a scary number.

The AP story was finished off by a quote from a Florida utilities director who claimed that “Unfortunately, there’s just not going to be any more cheap water.”

The AP also cited such events as a “30-year dry spell” in Australia as proof that the times of cheap water were behind us.

The story goes on to tie the predicted shortages, with so many other things these days, to that boogiest of men: global warming/climate change. So another ill chicken is supposedly coming home to roost.

The oceans will rise, covering which states? Weren’t Florida and California included? So while 20 feet under water, they’ll be bereft of water. Talk about an inconvenient truth: these dire predictions from climate changers are going to require a clearinghouse to keep from contradicting each other.

Perhaps good news will come, as it often does in the mail. One suspects however that after battling the forces of a torrential downpour, the only thing that’s there is likely the water bill.

UPDATE and ANSWERS: November 28, 2013 – Over six years after the original article.  We have lived through the North American Drought of 2012-13.

Several states, such as Colorado, now ban folks from collecting rain water for their private use.  Collecting rain water is now illegal in many states as the government claims ownership over our water.

At least one state has sent a man to jail for 30 days for collecting rain water for his own use in violation of the state rain water collection law.

Water shortages have become so severe and persistent in some countries, that it has become a premier political issue.  In fact,  Zimbabwe guarantees access to water in its constitution.  Not that it has done much good.

Billionaire T. Boone Pickens tried to corner the Ogalla Aquifer water market in the Midwest.  It’s been reported that Picken’s plans to sell water like he does oil have “unraveled.”  Will this be the last we see of someone trying to corner the usable water market?

Not likely.

Other super-weatlthy have quietly bought up the world’s water supplies over the last couple of decades.  Swiss food conglomerate Nestlé S.A. is one.

Does water vanish?  We know that it doesn’t.

We also know that the New World Order will tightly control all resources–including drinking water–in order to subdue the earth.  The one-world government will use any and all means to subjugate “all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.”  That includes control of drinkable water.

We also know that they will blame the shortages on the ever-popular global warming/climate change/whatever.  In addition, there will be plenty of Corporate Media coverage about how the planet is too overburdened with too many people using too much water.

In addition, we know that the amount of media coverage will only increase about the “water shortage” or the “vanishing drinking water supply.”  In fact, the Corporate Media’s preferred 2013 phrase appears to be “water crisis.”

It doesn’t get better; it only gets worse.

BLACK FRIDAY – That vile, American celebration of covetousness and greed known as Black Friday is not unique as a name.  The name Black Friday has been used for days other than the day after Thanksgiving.  A few of those other days known as Black Friday are:

Thanksgiving–A Time for Gratefulness to God – Ahhh, if only the piece would deliver what the headline promises.  There are many little white lies sprinkled among the ersatz sentiments, American patriotism and faux history lessons. Not very much about Thanksgiving; that’s just the holiday on which the author hangs her clever exhortations.  She does wrap the American flag around two scriptures, distorting their meaning.

The author’s bio blurb says she “calls all citizens to awaken, arise, and act in restoring one nation under God.” 

Seems to be a lot of that going round.  “Restoring the nation” is the ring through the nose by which many American Christians will be led to the slaughter.

Where did the “One nation under God” come from?  The Pledge of Allegiance.  But the original pledge, written in 1892, was:

“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

The addition of “under God” came about in 1954.  Two years later, Congress made “In God we Trust” the national motto. Because the USA became a particularly holy nation in the 1950s.  Because the mid-50s signaled that the USA was all about God in our deeds as well as in our words.

Not.

Anyway, this was just in time for Christianity to begin its long downward spiral in the USA.  But what should we expect from a country that has always been shy about connecting the name of “Jesus” to our “Christian nation.”

“Rising up” is a popular exercise in America these days, especially among American Christians–particularly those of the Dominionist strain.

NO DICHOTOMY – It’s not often the population of any group can be divided into only two equal, non-overlapping subgroups.  IF a large group can be divided into two non-overlapping subgroups, that is a called a dichotomy.

In these last days, it’s tempting to split Christianity into two groups: 1- those who have their heads in the sand; and, 2-those who don’t.  However, there are more than two groups in these last days.  A few of these are:

1- There are those in the church who insist that “things will get better.”

2- Those who believe we are in the last days and, like Alfred Hitchcock movie buffs, love to be scared by tales of impending disaster lurking around every corner.

3- Those who believe we are in the end times, but want to hedge their bets by claiming “I think we have a lot more time left.”

4- Those who believe we are in the end times and are anxiously awaiting the return of the King of Kings.

5- Those who believe we are in the last days but can’t break with the things of this world because “Hey be reasonable , we have to live our lives, don’t we?”

6- Those who believe we are living at the end of time and who ceaselessly search the writings of men and extra-biblical sources for information about the season.

That would make the group into a sextotomy.

Looking through some archives, it proved difficult to find one of the many, many, MANY examples of man’s hubris from–oh, around 1970; BUT, this writer did stumble across several other interesting articles.

Organization promoting religious freedom plans to deploy atheist billboards – Because, face it: if an American sees a billboard, he or she immediately takes whatever action that billboard is promoting.  What is the real reason behind these billboards?  Is it to “promote atheism?”  Is that possible?

Will billboard ads force Americans to turn away from what they believe?  Are the intended consumers of such a message unconvinced Americans or Christians?  Are the billboards advertising atheism or a change in the general public atmosphere concerning what it is now proper to believe–or not believe?

Muslims Take Victims, Cut Off Their legs And Arms, And Then Chop Their Bodies Into Pieces – Propaganda is an appeal to one’s emotions, bypassing the brain’s logic.  Did this example work on the reader?

You don’t have to go to College – Ahh, but then you’d feel left out: you’d be the only one on your block with no crushing, unshakable student loans!  You would be the only one in your social group that wouldn’t be a government slave!  What to talk about?  Where’s the challenge of $70,000 in the hole earning minimum wage?

You may be loaded down with debt and no prospects of future employment to pay it back–but at least you have a proven dust collector (diploma) you’ll likely never use, four or five years of idleness and the shared experience of “misery loves company.”  Better to make like a lemming, stay with the crowd and be miserable than to strike out on your own, be different and financially secure.

Ain’t that the truth!  The types of jobs called for in a third-world nation will be far different from what the average American has been used to over the last 75 years.

CNN: Is there really a knockout game? – So how do we know if such a game exists or if it’s merely another Corporate Media narrative (lie)?  The Corporate Media will tell us.  They certainly haven’t been shy about breathlessly telling us all of the details of the “game.”  In fact, they have been so kind as to provide us narratives that would make any red-blooded American cheer; e.g., the one about the lady who killed two teens who were attempting to involve her).

About this time, a purposely-weak attempt (the linked CNN story) to cast doubt on the narrative only reinforces the reality of this story in many readers’ minds.

This is how a narrative gets embedded in the American consciousness.  It’s repeated over and over until it becomes the truth.  Hmmm, seems like there’s a quote about that from the not-so-distant past…

Truer words were never spoken, whether referring to the influencing of masses of humans or the everyday behavior of some individuals.

So, is there a knockout game?  Probably not, but the real game, as always, is: what is the Corporate Media really trying to promote by promoting this story?  Usually, the clues are to be found by looking in the opposite direction from the story.

Mayor Nutter addresses Knockout in an attempt to keep it from spreading to Philadelphia – Whatever the underlying motive behind this narrative, they’re bringing in politicians to back it up.  What is at the bottom of this?  Readers may discuss this amongst yourselves.

The Knockout Game: if this is what young thugs in America will do for fun when times are still good, what will they be willing to do when the economy starts falling apart? – This headline may offer clues of the real game behind Knockout.  Linking criminal behavior to economic indicators might be one; another motive might be the creation of fear.  Probably both with an emphasis on the latter.
