MODERN LIES: KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

There a great number of modern lies which men tell each other–until a GREAT NUMBER of men believe them.

Some of the more common lies which are told, re-told and repeated some more are

Less is more
Knowledge is power
A person has “rights” which will protect him from being taken advantage of by those who are richer, bigger, stronger or smarter
Stashing away gold, guns and groceries will prepare a person against an uncertain future

There are an almost innumerable amount of other, similar untruths, but the four above are four of the more common.

Since the first on the list has already been covered (LESS IS MORE: Living in the World of Nineteen Eighty-Four), in this piece the focus will be on the second on the list (Knowledge is power).

One of the easiest ways for the reader to know “knowledge is power” is only a story told to the ignorant is to take a look at people who have a lot of knowledge.

Are these people generally powerful?

Even those who make their living exchanging potentially-embarrassing personal information for money (blackmail and extortion) are NOT particularly powerful. This can be demonstrated by the large number of blackmailers who end up in prison.

Convicts are not powerful.

Seven or eight years ago, there was a scene in the popular cable TV show, Game of Thrones, which illustrated the complete falseness of “Knowledge is power.”

The scene is a conversation between Cersei Lannister (a rich and powerful woman who would later become Queen) and one of her advisers, Petyr Baelish, who hints he has information to possibly blackmail Cersei about Cersei and her brother’s intimate trysts.

Cersei Lannister:
I heard a song once, about a boy of modest means, found his way in the home of a very prominent family. He loved the eldest daughter. Sadly, she had eyes for another.

Petyr Baelish:
When boys and girls live in the same home, awkward situations can arise. Sometimes, I’ve heard, even brothers and sisters develop certain affections. And when those affections become common knowledge, well that is an awkward situation indeed, especially in a prominent family. Prominent families often forget a simple truth I found.

Cersei Lannister:
And which truth is that?

Petyr Baelish:
Knowledge is power.

TODAY’S “FEUDS”

Everyone LOVES to hear and see DRAMA, right?

And what is more dramatic than an apparent feud among the beautiful people, right?

Particularly if the “feud” is between celebrities, politicos or royal nabobs?

IN FACT, the rich and celebrated almost never disagree: they engage in feuds–sometimes for decades after they have ceased being celebrated for anything else.

What would the beautiful people do with themselves if not for their never-ending feuds?

Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media) has always had a problem: what to do when too many of the rich and celebrated have NOTHING “newsworthy” to do. When the media gets tired of reporting what the rich and celebrated are wearing, they turn to the tried-and-true method of of fake “feuds” to generate cheap, plastic “news.”

One popular singer’s entire marketing campaign over the years seems to have been based on engaging in one “feud” after another. But, as the “victims” appear to be primarily the singer’s “fans,” it’s hard to get too worked up over the ruse.

Sports, politics and celebrity culture, European royalty–wherever the rich and celebrated congregate: these are the arenas where readers can most often find stories of “feuds.”

Oh–and pro wrestling…

One can depend on those who labor for the mystery of iniquity to act, in not only an EVIL manner, but also in a very repetitive one as well.

Case in point: when two followers of Satan are working together, one of the first things they do is establish that they 1-do not like each other; 2- they hate each other; or, 3- are fighting against one another.

Democrats and Republicans, Russia and the USA, members of the same family who toil together for evil ends, famous celebrities who are “feuding” with each other: it happens so often, one occasionally has to wonder, “Does Satan have a university or school where he teaches his followers these tricks?”

The world honors Lewis Carroll and Lewis Carroll’s behaviours have been relentlessly sanitized by the world.

The linked piece which follows is but one example of an energetic, ongoing effort to make Lewis Carroll appear as the “guy next door.”

Carroll was the author of Alice in Wonderland, among other works.

Alice in Wonderland is so much more than is promoted by the world.

Lewis Carroll’s Photographs Of Alice Liddell, The Inspiration For ‘Alice In Wonderland’ – The world honors its own–and so a closet pedophile is honored with this long apologetic.

Many of Carroll’s photographs of Alice and other children can seem downright prurient to our eyes. As Carroll’s biographer Jenny Woolf writes in a 2010 essay for the Smithsonian, “of the approximately 3,000 photographs Dodgson made in his life, just over half are of children—30 of whom are depicted nude or semi-nude.”

Some of his portraits—even those in which the model is clothed—might shock 2010 sensibilities, but by Victorian standards they were… well, rather conventional. Photographs of nude children sometimes appeared on postcards or birthday cards, and nude portraits—skillfully done—were praised as art studies […]. Victorians saw childhood as a state of grace; even nude photographs of children were considered pictures of innocence itself.
