I’m a Good Person: There is NONE Who Doeth Good

None do good, no, not one“They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”

THERE IS NONE GOOD

Here are a few of the biggest lies told in the end times.

“He’s a good man.”

“She’s a good person.”

“They’re good people.”

IF one believes the Bible (a decidedly minority view in the times in which we live), then one KNOWS there are NONE good.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”
–Psalm 14:1

There are a few variations of this VERY popular lie.

One variation is one that begins with “I can’t believe…”

As in “I can’t believe that so-and-so could be so [insert a word: cruel, mean, devious, etc.]”

IF one believes the Bible, one KNOWS men are capable of any and all depravity.

“They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
–Psalm 14:3

There’s another variation that goes something like “He has a good heart” or “She’s a good-hearted woman.”

IF one believes the Bible, one KNOWS that no one’s heart is good.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
–Jeremiah 17:9

What makes this lie so prevalent is that it is not only told to other people, it’s also a lie which people tell themselves.

“I’m a good person!”

“I promise I’ll be good.”

“I’ll be so good to him/her.”

“I didn’t mean to hurt her. From now on, I’ll be good!”

“Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.”
–Psalm 53:1

The lie of “good people” is told over and over because it is believed.

It is believed because most people DO NOT want to believe they are not good. Even many murderer claim they are kind to their mothers.

There is no goodness in man, who is fallen through sin. The only goodness in a person comes IF they put their trust in Jesus Christ for eternal salvation. THEN, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in the believer.

The believer is still composed of wicked, sinful flesh. But with God’s Spirit indwelling, there is, at last, something good inside.

“Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
–Psalm 53:3

After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
