Things of This World: Faith and Trust in Politics

THE DECEPTION OF POLITICS: Americans have been taught to transfer their trust from the Word of God to the things of this world, like POLITICS.
THE DECEPTION OF POLITICS: Americans have been taught to transfer their trust from the Word of God to the things of this world, like POLITICS.

POLITICS:

PUTTING YOUR FAITH IN THE THINGS OF THIS WORLD

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5

POLITICS: DECEPTION BY ANOTHER NAME

Americans have been suckered into transferring the trust and faith one should have in Jesus Christ or God the Father into the things of this world.

Particularly, Americans have a very strong faith in their political system, which they have been indoctrinated from childhood into believing is the apex of human achievement.

Instead of trusting in the Savior, the very vast majority of Americans put their faith and trust in the political system to deliver them from evil.  This is a sad situation, as many simply do not ask the question: “From where have many of the evils faced by Americans sprung?”

It’s becoming more clear by the day the answer to this question is “The Federal government.”

Yet Americans–and most American church-goers–continue to put their trust in the same government to fix the problems created by that government. How tragic.

This person swears that the Democrats are the answer to all problems in life.  Another will pound the table as he proclaims Republicans to be the saviors of America.  Still another puts his trust in libertarians, fiscal conservatism, the ways of the Progressive, anarchy, church government, Hebrew roots, or some other scheme of man.

In the meantime, political parties play Ring around the Rosie and musical chairs, time passes and nothing changes except things get worse.  All the while Americans continue in their vain hope that things will get better.

Again, tragic.

POLITICS  is deception by another name.

The last 60+ years of American history have been a tale of excesses; first by one party, then the other.  The American people, led by their faith in their constitution and their leaders’ assurances–often in direct contradiction of what the Bible has said–that they were doing the “will of God” have ping-ponged from one party to another in search of that which they will not find in the political world.

  • 1952-From Truman(D) to Eisenhower(R)
  • 1960-From Eisenhower(R) to Kennedy/Johnson(D)
  • 1968-From Johnson(D) to Nixon/Ford(R)
  • 1976-From Ford(R) to Carter
  • 1980-From Carter(D) to Reagan/Bush I(R)
  • 1992-From Bush I(R) to Clinton.(D)
  • 2000-From Clinton(D) to Bush II(R)
  • 2008-From Bush II(R) to Obama.(D)
  • 2016…and so it goes.

Roughly every eight years, DC’s elite play their own little game of Rope-a-Dope and guess who the “dope” is?

The worse things get, the more Americans scratch their heads and wonder “Why?”  And any who put any faith in Sarah Palin or the Republicans or Joe Biden or the Democrats OR any political party to right the ship of America will continue to scratch their heads and wonder “Why?”

One would think that after a few centuries,  this supposedly “Christian nation” would finally forsake the machinations of man for Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God.  But no, it appears that American political parties will never go broke betting on the gullibility of the voters.

One would also believe the futility of putting one’s trust in politics to solve the evils of this life would have been demonstrated clearly over the last 30 years or so.  But no, regardless of how many times political “saviors” fail in their promises to lead America to prosperity, safety and “a car in every garage,” voters will keep lining up to support them.

POLITICS is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do, but you don’t go anywhere.

REMINDER: In 2010, Americans went to the polls and kicked the Democrats out of Congressional control because of ObamaCare.  The GOP has controlled Congress since January 2011.  Has there been any changes over the last three-and-a-half-years of Republican control?  Has the GOP delivered on their promises to relieve Americans of ObamaCare?

Of course not. However, there have been many excuses why Republicans have not been able to deliver on their basic promises of the 2010 election–especially on ObamaCare.

We live in a fallen world.  Those who place their hopes in the schemes of man–a political party, a social cause, a church movement–to accomplish what the Bible says will not happen until Jesus Himself come back, are deceived.

“Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
Psalm 146:3

[NOTE: This verse is not referring to the title Jesus took for Himself “Son of Man.”  It is the Hebrew for “human” or “man born of a woman”–which means a member of mankind.]

Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio–or any politician or church movement leader–will not lead America, the world or mankind from their fallen state of sinfulness.  HOWEVER, most Americans will continue to search for a man who promises them salvation.  The Bible promises that such a man will arise.

Soon.

And he will lead the world–not just America–into destruction, not salvation.

Do You Know Jesus?

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
Romans 1:21
