The Abomination that is Astrology: Divination and Familiar Spirits

ASTROLOGY: STILL AN ABOMINATION

A little astrology propaganda for “the little people.”

Why you should believe in astrology

“Mercury retrograde seems to be the one thing that can make the hardcore skeptics a tiny bit less anti-astrology.”

“There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.”
Deuteronomy 18:10-12

Some readers may wonder “What’s the harm in astrology? Why is it considered an abomination?”

(An abomination is a particularly bad thing in the eyes of God Almighty.)

Astrology is a form of divination; i.e., an attempt to foretell the future using forbidden means.

While there are fake astrologers (yes, sad to say, there are people who pretend to be something they are not), astrology works, not because of the position of the stars: astrology works because the astrologer has a “familiar spirit.

THIS is the reason astrology is an abomination.

All who consult such spirits (those who talk to the dead [necromancers], fortune tellers, all who practice divination, witches, sorcerers, etc)  partake in forbidden behaviors. IF one wants access to supernatural power, one must go to God Almighty.

Those who use a familiar spirit access illegitimate supernatural power.

Why is it a bad thing to access such supernatural power through familiar spirits?

Because God uses such power for His own ends and it is very hard for humans to use such power. When a person employs a familiar spirits, that person is using supernatural power for their own ends: they are using supernatural power for selfish purposes, not God’s purposes.

Make no mistake: astrology works–up to a point–as does divination, necromancy (talking to the dead) and witchcraft. But it isn’t a case of whether these practices”work” or not.  It’s a matter of their being forbidden by God.

Which is why the debate in the media will always be about “Whether these practices work or not.

The debate will never be about “WHY they work.”

Sadly, things do not turn out well for those in league with such spirits,  Evil (unclean) spirits are a judgment from God on those who partake of such forbidden power. While the person with the spirit believes they have something of great value (and many times have had to jump through many hoops over a long course of time to obtain such spirits), these spirits HATE humans and desire their ultimate destruction.

To escape judgment, those with familiar spirits need only renounce them and change direction.

HOWEVER, it is a sign of perfect judgment that those who have such spirits are very reluctant to forsake them. They cling to the very thing that is destroying their life and the lives of their family and friends. The person with the familiar spirit usually doesn’t see it that way: they only look at the trinkets, parlor tricks and other temporary trifles they access through their spirit.

They attribute all of the negative events around them to “chance,” “fortune” or “bad luck.”

SO: astrology, other forms of divination, witchcraft, necromancy, sorcery and all who consult with familiar spirits engage in forbidden practices.

Ultimately, NOTHING good ever comes from such behaviors.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
–Ephesians 6:12

Does the reader engage with forbidden powers?

Does the reader believe these powers to be a help or a hindrance?

IF he answered the previous question with “HELP,” ss the reader’s life as he would want it to be?

WHY NOT?

There is still a little time to change directions (repent) and call upon the mercy of the ever-merciful God Almighty.

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”
2 Corinthians 4:3
