Matters of Opinion

opinions

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”
–2TIMOTHY 3:16

Satan is a tricky fellow.

What is the “father of lies” to do when  man has access to the Words of God?

What is Satan to do when man has access to all of the warnings contained in the Bible?

When the devil is contradicted using God’s Word, he is stymied.

So, how is Satan to deceive mankind when man has available God’s Word?

One method is to get man to DISREGARD God’s Word by teaching him God’s Word is whatever an individual might desire it to be.

“That’s your opinion!”

IF God’s Word is simply a matter of each man’s OPINION, then God’s Word means NOTHING.

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.”
–2PETER 1:20

There are NO “opinions” on a topic on which God has spoken via His Word.

There is only confusion–which is one of the prime reasons the wolves in the pulpit have taught that God’s Word is often unknowable and reduced to a “matter of opinion.”

“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”
–1CORINTHIANS 14:33

The ravening wolves in the pulpits might run from the gospel of Jesus Christ, but they LOVE the story of the blind men and the elephant. More than one pastor has used this story to “prove” that God’s Word is really nothing more than a collection of each man’s different OPINIONS.

It is a story of a group of blind men, who have never come across an elephant before and who learn and conceptualize what the elephant is like by touching it. Each blind man feels a different part of the elephant’s body, but only one part, such as the side or the tusk. They then describe the elephant based on their limited experience and their descriptions of the elephant are different from each other…The moral of the parable is that humans have a tendency to claim absolute truth based on their limited, subjective experience as they ignore other people’s limited, subjective experiences which may be equally true.

BUT what the wolves forget to emphasize is that all of the men in their story were BLIND.

Satan is a tricky fellow.

DOES the reader believe that disagreements about the Bible can be boiled down to a clash of opinions?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
