Jim Jones, Jonestown: False Christ, Deceiver, Forerunner

One False Christ Produced by a Country of Such Men

Over 38 years ago, 900 people were killed in a mass murder/suicide in Jonestown, Guyana–more formally known as the People’s Temple Agricultural Project.

The Bible warns of false Christs.

Yet the people at Jonestown followed one to their destruction. But Jim Jones was not an anomaly: Jones was a sign of the times in which we have been living.

One false Christ from a country which has steadily churned out false Christs. And which continues to mass produce such men.

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”

After problems in the USA, Jim Jones moved his operations outside the USA to Guyana to escape the authorities–only a few of which were concerned with his cult.

Many helped Jones along the way with government money, prestige, jobs and/or favors. In fact, to read even the doctored histories of Jonestown is to be impressed with the many politicians, both Republicans and Democrats, which facilitated Jones’ rise.

At some point, an audio tape surfaced which claimed to be the last moments of Jones and his followers at Jonestown.

This audio purports to be the last day at Jonestown. It was supposedly found in a recorder under Jones’ chair and is the restored version, posted to the Internet Archives in 2005.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE TAPE.  What good can come of it?  This link is posted because of the comments posted at this link–not the disturbing audio.  To those who may be tempted to listen: read the comments first.  Then make a decision.

The comments attached to this recording are what are of interest.  Some of the commentators claim to have been at Jonestown or to have escaped.

At least one of the commentators had family at the compound.

It’s a tragic reminder of what happens when biblical warnings are ignored.

“I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.”

Of supreme interest to this writer are the commenters which, 30+ years after the harsh lessons of Jonestown, still reject Christianity or still confuse Jim Jones with Christianity.

It is exactly this type of thinking; this rejection of Biblical authority: on display decades later, which led these people to follow a Jim Jones in the first place.

But these poor souls are only a tiny subset of the numbers who will blindly follow another imposter, coming in the future.  From the sound of the comments, some of the survivors will most probably repeat their mistake in following another false Christ in the future.

MAN OF SIN: The Man of Sin is Coming

However, having said that, there are many today who confuse those who “come in Christ’s name” with Christ. Many such men appear as “ministers of righteousness.”

“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”

It’s a daily happening all over the USA.  The world is wrapping many things with the name of “Christian” and throwing in a few references to “God.” This appears to be the correct formula for disabling what passes for “Christian discernment” in America.

It’s a recipe that’s made multimillionaires out of the ‘ministers of righteousness’ who walketh about the airwaves of the antichrist, pseudo-Christian TV networks.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

It’s deluded pretenders who have propelled The Shack, The Harbinger and The Circle Maker to best-seller status.

It’s deluded, pretending non-believers who have popularized the witchcraft that is the occult Four Blood Moons teaching, which is popular in the apostate churches.

And while the immediate consequences of embracing such New Age/pagan/antichrist literature/practices may not have the same earthly impact as embracing a Jim Jones, surely the eternal results could be as bad.

Again, because they have not been born again, they have no Holy Spirit. Because they have no Holy Spirit, they have no discernment.

And no amount of “study;” no amount of repeating Bible verses; no amount of pretending, can ever mask an absence of the Holy Spirit.

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

Jim Jones was a false Christ.  He was also a deceived deceiver. But Jim Jones was merely a forerunner for what’s to come.

Jim Jones led his followers to their destruction.

Just as a future false Christ will lead millions more to destruction.

And because they have no defenses, no spiritual protection, they will go deceived to the slaughter.

And warning these souls is a thankless task.

Completely.

Utterly.

Totally.

Thankless.

On most days.  Still:

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”

Time is running out.

Even the heathen and the workers of iniquity can see.

Don’t place your faith in men and the fables of men and their deceiving spirits.
