All-Powerful God and Small Man

man is small

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
–Isaiah 55:8-9

Man is a VERY proud creature.

Some men imagine that they are gods.

They are not.

In fact, what a blessing to ALL humans that man is not God.

Man is selfish.

God is not.

Man is most concerned with his own future and well-being.

God is concerned with all–but particularly His children.

Man  takes advantage of ANY and ALL bits of power which place him in control of others.

God is all-powerful, yet endures the rebelliousness of man to further His plan for humanity.

Though man is convinced of his superiority over all, there are some who KNOW that they cannot trust themselves–let alone other men.

“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”
–Psalm 118:8

“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.”
–Proverbs 28:26

Still, there are enough men who do not know enough about the world and the way it works: these men are caught up in schemes where they imagine they control all.

These men imagine that they are gods.

Some men are consumed with vanity and pride. Such men chafe at the idea that they are mere creations of an all-powerful God.

These men want to call the shots eternally.

These men are hopelessly deluded.

In the end times, such men will appear to triumph for a short time–42 months to be exact.

“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.  And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.”
–Revelation 13:5-7

In fact, one of the great reasons for allowing the man of sin and his followers to rule the roost for three-and-a-half years is to emphatically demonstrate the ineffectiveness of man and man’s “solutions” to man’s problems–as well as man’s fallen and corrupt nature.

God is holy.

Man cannot even imagine what “holy” means.

God is loving, kind and fair to all.

Man is concerned chiefly with himself.

God sees all, knows all and had a definite plan in mind when He created man.

Man sees as far as his self-interest will allow him to see.

Even wicked, foolish men should get down on their knees and thank God that man is NOT God.

But they won’t.

“Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”
–1CORINTHIANS 1:25

AT TIMES, does the reader question whether God knows what He is doing?

DOES the reader realize that posing such questions is the first step along the road to rebellion against God?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
