“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
–Revelation 13:16-17
No matter how poor or otherwise powerless; no matter how far down on the totem pole of life, when one BUYS something, one experiences feelings of CONTROL.
From the initial stages of PLANNING TO BUY something all the way to MAKING A CHOICE OF WHAT TO BUY and PAYING FOR THE PRODUCT OR SERVICE, the buyer exercises (however small) a measure of control over his purchase. This includes the choice of NOT BUYING or postponing the purchase to a later date.
Perhaps this is why shopping is an obsession with so many?
Once a person has made the decision to BUY a product or service and begins looking at his alternatives, he becomes the center of attention for ALL who wish to SELL him that product.
His needs and wants are carefully considered–or at least, he is presented with the ILLUSION that his wants and needs are important–his questions are answered; his wishes become crucial.
In short, the “customer is king.”
…an economic concept where the consumer has some controlling power over goods that are produced, and the idea that the consumer is the best judge of their own welfare.
This is the method by which man has bought and sold for centuries.
However, God’s Word informs that buying and selling will be CHANGED during the last days before the return of Jesus Christ.
BEFORE one can exercise ANY control over buying EVEN THE SMALLEST PURCHASE, one will have to worship the image of the beast and take the mark of the beast.
“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”
–Revelation 13:18
God’s Word does not say that a person will necessarily take a mark which is 666. What God’s Word specifies is that, IN ORDER TO BUY OR SELL, one will have to “take a mark in their right hand or forehead.”
That mark COULD BE a 666–OR it could be the “name of the beast or his number.”
OR, it could be another mark which signifies the one with the mark worships (the image of the beast) in the approved manner.
So, the mark of the beast is not necessarily a 666.
But, it could be.
IF the reader has ever purchased a product or service online–the manner it appears the entire world will be REQUIRED to buy a good or service–he, no doubt, has experienced the frustration of finding a product he has been searching for and, after deciding to buy it, had his purchase turned down for one reason or another.
In other words, the reader was NOT APPROVED to buy.
In the last days, this non-approval to buy will be the result of ALL who attempt to buy but do NOT have the required mark of the beast.
At any rate, BEFORE one experiences the control normally associated with buying, one FIRST has to be APPROVED and receive a mark.
And so, ALL who dwell on the earth–except those who are of the kingdom of God–will take the mark and worship the image of the beast.
“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
–Revelation 13:8
Thus, the whole world will be able to buy (and sell).
Especially all of those who are so fond of shopping.
DOES the reader feel that this talk about end times buying and selling is “crazy talk“?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
