New Retail: Excitement in the World’s Marketplace

A number of people believe we are “living in exciting times.”

In fact, there are those who greet others with some variation of “We live in exciting times!”

Of course, what so many are excited about is most likely NOT what should be stirring their body, mind and spirit.

This was brought to mind recently by the continuing conversion of the world’s retail sales establishments to the New Retail.

The New Retail involves buying and selling ONLINE (instead of in person).  And while this might not appear to be a very big change from the way buying and selling have traditionally been conducted, it is.

A HUGE change.

TRADITIONALLY, the way the business of buying and selling have been conducted has been simple and effective.  Person #1 wants to buy a product.  Person #2 has such a product for sale. Person #1 inspects the product to make sure that it is what he wants. Then, Person #1 gives Person #2 enough money to cover the price of the product.  Person #1 then leaves with the product (which he now owns) in hand and can immediately use the product.

IN THE NEW RETAIL, Person #1 wants to buy a product.  Person #2 claims he has such a product and describes the product (usually providing a picture of the product).  IF Person #1 wants to take a chance, he then provides Person #2 with proof of who he is and gives Person #2 enough electronic money to cover the cost of the product AND SHIPPING. And then Person #1 waits until Person #2 sends him the product.

Instead of the traditional exchange, there is a New Retail exchange where the buyer has to TRUST the seller to eventually provide him with the product–and not only a product, but the RIGHT product that Person #1 had in mind. IF any disagreements or the product is not right, then the buyer has to also trust that the seller will make it right.

To facilitate the transition to the new retail, old-style “brick and mortar” stores will A- no longer provide a wide selection of products; B- any popular or useful products they do offer will be offered ONLINE as a form of the New Retail.

And in a country which was ONCE known as the “marketplace of the world,” fewer and fewer stores have less and less once-common, everyday product for sale.

Maybe it should be “Marketplace of the NEW World“?

As one woman recently put it: “The stores don’t have ANYTHING any more.  AND what they do have,  they want you to order them online! Online!  There’s nothing IN the stores any more!”

Now, some readers may wonder, “Why change a system which has worked perfectly well since man began buying and selling?”

Why would those changing the system suffer losses in order to do it?

Why change a system which has worked well FOR CENTURIES; since man began buying and selling?

The Bible explains that there will come a day when buying and selling will be HIGHLY CONTROLLED by a false prophet/messiah/man of sin as a way to enforce his decrees.

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”
–Revelation 13:16-18

The New Retail is the beginning of this new system of commerce which will be necessary in order for the man of sin to control who buys and who sells.

NOW does the reader understand the BIG PUSH to persuade folks to buy their groceries online?

And eventually, folks WILL buy their foodstuffs online–or they will not eat.

There are more pieces of this end times commerce puzzle which need to slide into place before the system is ready to launch.

But there are a great many pieces already in place.

As stated at the beginning of this piece, it is exciting times in which we live.

Even if the reader does not believe the construction of a whole new way of buying and selling is very exciting.

HAS the reader noticed any changes in trying to obtain once-common products?

HAS the reader then reassured himself with the soothing “Things change“?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?
