THE END TIMES ACCORDING TO SATAN

Continuing the observations and thoughts of Third Jewish Temple: Temple of God, part one.

Satan has his own version of end times events.  This version differs significantly from what can be found in the Bible.  There are a few reasons that the enemy has carefully constructed his end times scenario over the last 180-190 years.

1- Satan is a liar and a deceiver.

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.“
—John 8:44

2- The end times events in the Bible are events known to NO MAN, “not even the angels.”  Satan wants a end times events that he can control.  So that he can deceive men.

One end times event which was not in Christian teaching until the last 180 years was the teaching of a Third Jewish Temple being constructed.  This was an idea almost totally foreign to Christianity until the writings of John Nelson Darby in 1830.

Darby invented so many new doctrines for Christianity, he had to write an entire new Bible translation to justify them all. A Bible translation which happened to include many occult and New Age ideas within its pages.

Darby’s writing languished in relative obscurity until they were picked up by the Christian mass media and HEAVILY PROMOTED BY THE WORLD three separate times in the 20th century.

In 1909, the Scofield Reference Bible picked up Darby’s teaching for use in its notes.  Thus, many concepts which had been foreign to Christian eschatology entered into the mainstream of Christianity.

Sixty-one years later in 1970, Hal Lindsey’s Late Great Planet Earth was heavily promoted by the world.  It sold 20 million copies and again, the idea of a third Jewish temple became embedded in the (American) Christian consciousness.

Twenty-seven year later, the Left Behind series sold sixty million plus copies, inspired several movies and American Christianity was finally sold on the idea that there would be a third Jewish temple arise in Jerusalem.

TRAMPLING ON THE ONCE-FOR-ALL SACRIFICE OF JESUS CHRIST

Was the sacrifice of Jesus “once for all”?

“By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
—Hebrews 10:10

When Jesus shouted “It is finished” was He telling the truth?

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
—John 19:30

Will believers return to the Old Covenant in defiance of the what the Word says?  Will there be another method of salvation for the Jews outside the sacrifice of Jesus Christ?  Will there be a return to the Old Covenant, a covenant that was “ready to vanish away” 2000 years ago?

“In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.”
—Hebrews 8:13

Those who teach the construction of a third Jewish temple point to 2 Thessalonians as their proof.

“…and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
—2 Thessalonians 2:3b-4

Here’s a few questions.

Why would the Jews build a third Temple?

What would take place in that building?

Would the sacrifices offered in a third Jewish temple be accepted by a God who sent His Son to die once and for all to pay the price for sin?

Would God’s Word call such a building, which tramples on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, “the temple of God?”

Did Paul use the phrase “temple of God” to mean something other than a Jewish temple?

Yes.

He used the phrase “temple of God” as a metaphor for the Church.

The phrase translated as “the temple of God” is used 4 times by Paul (1 Corinthians 3:16, I Corinthians 3:17, 2 Corinthians 6:16 and 2 Thessalonians 2:4). In the other 3 cases, there is no doubt that Paul is speaking about a spiritual temple – i.e. the body of believers called the church – and not a physical building. That certainly makes it likely that this usage is no different. In fact, the alternative word “hieron” (Strongs #2411) is ALWAYS used in reference to a physical temple (Paul uses it once in 1 Cor 9:13).

—Does the AntiChrist sit in a literal temple?

So Paul used the word for a spiritual temple: the Church.

The antichrist–rather the false prophet–will rise from the middle of an end times Church and present himself as worthy of worship.  Not in the middle of a temple built with human hands; not even in a third Jewish temple built with human hands.

“Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,”
—Acts 7:48

“God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;”
—Acts 17:24

A THIRD JEWISH TEMPLE

NOW, with all that;s been said: will there be a third Jewish temple constructed?

One would certainly think so.

The reader may be asking: The writer just spent some time to demonstrate that there is no third Jewish temple referred to in the Bible.  Why then does he suppose that a third Jewish temple will be built?

Because Satan has consistently spent many resources over the last 180 years to ensure the deception of the modern Christian that such a temple will be built–and that events that support the enemy’s timeline will take place.

When Jesus finished His work on the cross, the veil of the temple (which separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place) was rent in two by God.

Will God honor that which He has torn asunder or the men who try to undo His work?

The building of a third Jewish temple in the very secular state called Israel fits Satan’s end times plans.  Not the least because he controls the timing of this event.

Sight-walking Christians, who have believed what ministers of righteousness have told them the Bible says, are looking for a third Jewish temple.  And they will see a third Jewish temple rise.

But in no case would God’s Word call such a building built by human hands–about which the Bible is completely silent–be called “the temple of God.”.
