Appointed Time to Die: Does Man have an Appointed Time?

Appointed Time“Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?”
Job 7:1

The topic of a “man’s appointed time” was touched upon during a discussion the other day.

A man, who has preached in his church for the last 25 years, attempted to make the point that man’s days are not appointed by God.

This was a highly UNBIBLICAL position (to say the least).

“Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;”
Job 14:5

The Bible records perhaps a half-dozen verses to the effect that a person’s days are not only numbered and appointed, but are appointed before the person has taken his first breath.

“in thy book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
Psalm 139:16

And then, once the appointed time comes around, not only does man die, but then he is judged (regardless of what other men may say).

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”
Hebrews 9:27

There is no luck.

There is no fate.

There are no accidents.

Every man has an appointed time determined before that man was born.

“If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.”
–Job 14:14

Will you be ready when your appointed time is come?

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
