“A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit”
–Matthew 7:18
Called a “cult” by some, the list of people who came forth from the Brethren brings to mind Matthew 7:18.
A partial list is provided.
- John Bodkin Adams — General practitioner and suspected serial killer (tried for one murder but controversially acquitted)
- Dr. Edward Cronin— Pioneer of the pseudoscience of homeopathy and one of the original Dublin brethren
- Aleister Crowley— an English occultist, ceremonial magician, practitioner of Magick, known as “The Beast 666”
- John Nelson Darby— Father of the pretribulation Rapture fable
- John George Haigh — Serial killer known as the Acid Bath Murderer
- Paul Harvey — Conservative American radio broadcaster for Satan’s Mouthpiece
- David Hendricks— Convicted of killing his wife and children but acquitted in a retrial
- Garrison Keillor — Corporate Media radio personality (“A Prairie Home Companion“) and author;
- Brian D. McLaren — Prominent and controversial voice in the Emerging Church movement.
- Watchman Nee — WATCHMAN NEE: Watch Out for Watchman Nee
- Francis William Newman — Younger brother of Cardinal John Henry Newman. Excommunicated for denying the Divinity of Christ.
- G. H. Pember — An English theologian whose writings inspired the modern Science Fiction Church. Promoted the unbiblical nephilim myths. Made many unbiblical statements.
- Jim Wallis — Founder and editor of Sojourners Magazine, backer of Barack Obama and ObamaCare.
- Smith Wigglesworth – Pentecostal faith healer. Studied the bible with the Brethren. Made many unbiblical teachings and statements.
