END TIMES WARNINGS: Trying to Warn the Deceived

watchman-wall-pd

“But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.”
–Ezekiel 33:6

The watchman is to warn. IN the times in which we now live, those he warns usually ignore his warning.

Instead of heeding the warning, some get angry and try to pull down the watchman.

“And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.”
–Matthew 10:36

False watchmen abound.

In the times in which we live, many who have little concern for those they supposedly watch over claim the mantle of the watchman.

  • One time they may cry wolf and raise a false alarm when no danger threatens.
  • Other times, they remain silent.
  • Another time, they raise an alarm and attempt to spread fear about a real danger which has not yet appeared.
  • Finally, they may raise an alarm about something which is not dangerous.

Real watchmen are hated because those they watch would rather continue living in the manner to which they are accustomed.

“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
–Mark 13:13

Why does the watchman do what he does?

First, because he is commanded to watch and warn.

But he is also charged with saving as many as can be pulled from the fire–whether they be willing or not.

“And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire;”
–Jude 1:23

THREE GROUPS

There are three groups which might hear the watchman’s cry. The three groups are

Believers: this group has little need of warnings as they have the Holy Spirit and know the season.

Lost Masses: this group, the largest of the three, is deceived by the workers of iniquity into believing they need no warnings; that the warnings are false; that attempts to warn them are somehow attempts to control them.

Workers of Iniquity: This group, which is quite sizable in the end times, are actively engaged in deceit, especially of the masses. But they themselves are deceived, though they would likely never admit it–even if they were aware of it.

HOW TO WARN THE DECEIVED?

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
–2Timothy 3:13

Just had a conversation about the futility of trying to warn the deceived with “You know, you are deceived.”

It’s not going to work for several reasons, but one reason above all others.

IF the deceived would listen to the truth, they would no longer be the deceived.

Which is why the entire world will be surprised, shocked and amazed at their sudden and complete destruction. Even though the warnings have existed for thousands of years; even though they have been regularly repeated: the world slumbers on, obsessed with slavery called “freedom” and servitude marketed as “liberty.”

While they are celebrating the return of the Golden Age of Man, destruction will overtake them.

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.”
–1Thessalonians 5:3-4

God can do anything. He could, if it fit His purpose, warn all in a manner which would be heeded.

But instead, God has chosen to utilize the lowly watchman.

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.”
–1Corinthians 1:27-29

And so the watch goes on, the warnings proceed.

Until the warnings are no longer needed.

“And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.”
–Revelation 14:19-20

Tender Mercies of the Lord: Will Not Always Be Available

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
John 20:31

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

“Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.”
–Proverbs 26:12
