Occult and Pagan Meditation Promoted by the Churches

The occult and the churches

“Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.”
–Matthew 15:7-8

In the end times, the churches appear to be ground zero for the spread of pagan and occult ideas, practices and rituals–such as meditation and including meditation by other, more Christianized names (such as centering prayer, soaking prayer, holy meditation, rosary, etc.).

Some readers may ask “What’s so bad about meditation and associated practices?”

“IF my church says meditation and centering prayer are good things, how can they be bad?”

The modern meditative practice is all about “opening one’s mind,” “getting in touch with your inner self,” “losing one’s self” and “emptying one’s mind.”

What does the Bible say about such suggestions?

  1. One of the fruits of God’s Holy Spirit is temperance (another name for temperance is “self-control).
  2. Believers are to keep control over their minds at all time–regardless of how great someone may claim another experience will be.
  3. Anytime one “zones out” one is relinquishing one’s control of one’s thoughts.
  4. Believers are to capture every stray thought–not encourage or seek such a thought–and bring it into captivity.

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”
–2Corinthians 10:5

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
–Matthew 22:47

As long as the great majority of people desire to honor God Almighty and His Son, Jesus Christ, with their lips only, there will be those who teach them demonic, satanic and occult practices in the buildings called the “churches.”

Dangerous Soaking Prayer gains momentum – There are large swaths of American church-goers who will have no problem with entering into a trance state in order to hear “God’s voice.”

Any voice, actually.

IF the church-goers cared to honor God and Jesus Christ with more than their lips, they would turn to God Almighty and His Son, Jesus Christ, and understand the dangers of trusting unknown and unseen practices and entities. They would quit these unholy practices, rituals and traditions which abound in the churches.

Kriya Yoga Conference to blend Catholic, Eastern spirituality

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,”
–2Corinthians 6:14-17

Among end times church folk, one of the oft-repeated ideas is that traditional prayer is no longer enough: meditation is better, more exciting and more up-to-date.

What’s the purpose?

It appears to be about training church-goers to pay more attention to deceptive meditation materials and leaders than God’s Word. Eventually, the focus will be about some other spirit than God Almighty.

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
