Time: Some Days…

time

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”
–Ecclesiastes 3:1

Some days, time weighs heavy on a man.

Because some days, one is confronted by the full weight of the lies which surround man in this world in which we live.

Because some days, one is forced to admit the thousands of betrayals–both small and large–worked throughout one’s life, by those who had been previously trusted.

Because some days, one is convinced by what it truly means to be alive in the times in which we now live.

Some days, time weighs heavy.

But this occasional heaviness is absolutely necessary.

Because occasionally, it is essential for one to face the realization that this world–and all those who dwell upon it–are NOT good: there is no one good in this world.

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
–Romans 3:10-12

Because occasionally, it is helpful to evaluate whether one’s separation from the world and the things of the world is permanent OR “just a phase one is going through.”

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
–James 4:4

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
–1JOHN 2:15-16

Because occasionally, one has to remind one’s self of the master one serves–or rather SHOULD be serving.

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
–Matthew 6:24

Some days, time weighs heavy.

But this heaviness–which makes itself known from time-to-time–is absolutely necessary.

Because–sporadically–it is crucial to remember that the hour is late.

“A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”
–Ecclesiastes 3:2-8

DOES the reader serve two masters?

DOES the reader tell himself a number of “white lies” in order to make his service to money, material pleasures and the things of this world seem necessary and good?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
