A Question of the Time That Remains

clocks, time

While busy performing the regular chores and errands which are necessary, thoughts often intrude.

This past week, one of those thoughts intruded insistently.

The persistent intruder?

So many moderns show little hesitation in informing others that they “do not believe in all of that religious talk.”  This confession usually comes from a person AFTER some sort of discussion touching upon the churches or “going to church” or in what manner a person was brought up religiously.

This confession is ALMOST offered as a “badge of honor.” The confession demonstrating that the person making it is an “open-minded” person, willing to consider just about anything spiritually (or sometimes otherwise).

That so many offer a sort of disbelief/disdain of the religion traditions they were taught as a child was where the intruding thought began.

The intruding thought ended up with a question: “IF so many profess disbelief in the Bible and even their churches, why are so many of these same people so uneasy about the future?”

One of the most asked questions one receives concerns the amount of time the Bible says is left to end times man,

“How much time do you think is left?”

Often, the question is more direct

“What does the Bible say about how much time is left?”

This question is almost always asked without any sort of preamble.

This question is almost always asked REGARDLESS OF THE SUBJECT MATTER JUST DISCUSSED.

Oh, many times, what the future might hold might crop up in the conversation…

…but usually, it’s not immediately before this question is asked.

SO, the intruding question (“IF so many profess disbelief in the Bible and even their churches, why are so many of these same people so uneasy about the future?”) never did get fully answered.

Though there were plenty of thoughts associated with that question.

Perhaps the reader has some thoughts of his own on the topic?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
