Giving More Information to the Deceived is Like Throwing a Bottle of Water to a Drowning Man

And the great dragon…that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world”
–Revelation 12:9

Satan is a GREAT deceiver–and the end times are Satan’s time to shine.

So it stands to reason that the end times are a time of so many being deceived by GREAT deceptions.

One of the greatest deceptions of the times in which we now live is the notion that everything can be “talked out;” i.e., that mistakes, wrong ideas, bad choices, sins or whatever can be resolved by TALKING ABOUT IT.

Even the heavily-deceived world knows this is a lie.

Talk is cheap.”

Talk the talk.” or “walk the walk”

A likely story.”

YET, there are great many people who believe that “talking to someone” will cause that person to walk a different path than the one they currently are treading.

“If only I could get a chance to talk to her!”

“Someone needs to give him a good talking-to!”

“Somebody has to tell her!”

Does the reader know of a circumstance where these words have been uttered?

Was the deceived person given more information?

Did the deceived person change what they were doing?

IF a person is deceived, all of the talking in the world will not help–UNLESS that talking involves preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the person–which the great majority of the world will NOT do.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

Otherwise, the person who plans on informing the deceived person can save their breath.

Deception is not a problem of the deceived one not knowing some particular information: deception is a spiritual problem, NOT an informational one.

So many moderns sincerely believe that IF they only could impart the right information; if they only could stumble across the right way to say something, they could change the situation or the circumstances of a misguided love one.

Deception is NOT an information problem.

Deception is NOT a problem of logic or data.

Deception is NOT a communication problem.

Deception IS a spiritual problem.

Because so many treat deception (“S/he is so bad for him/her! Why can’t s/he see that?“) as something other than what it is, they fail to bring about positive changes in whatever it is they are addressing,

Whether it concerns them or someone close to them.

MORE or BETTER information will NOT help a deceived person shed their deception.

Regardless of what Satan may whisper; regardless of what the world may claim; regardless of what friends and acquaintances may say: there are NO words–outside of “You’re going to jail!“–which will change the deceived person’s actions.

And even threats of confinement or physical violence only changes the person for a very short time–and during that ENTIRE time, the deceived person is thinking of ways to return to his old behaviors.

Trying to change a deceived person’s direction by “talking to them” or “talking it out” is like throwing a bottle of water to a drowning man: it will NOT help in the least, but it usually allows the person making the effort feel like they are doing something useful.

HAS the reader ever tried “talking to” someone who the reader feels is making a bad choice?

HOW successful was the reader in turning that person from their bad choice?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
