How Will I Know When the Judgment of God Begins?

OF ALL of the end times questions which this corner has gotten over the years, perhaps the EASIEST to answer was one posed a few days ago.

“How will I know when the judgment of God begins?”

“Oh, you’ll know.”

“Okay, but HOW will I know?”

“Well, the judgment of God–as described in God’s Word–is fairly straight-forward.  Almost always, it involves mass death as God cleanses His creation.”

“So, I should watch out for when a LOT of people die?  THAT will tell me?”

“Do you believe that God will have a hard time letting you know when the end (for the wicked) is upon us?  He IS God, you know.”

“Just making sure…”

“Re-read the Book of Revelation–and study it!  That will tell you MUCH about the coming judgment of God.  However, I don’t think I’d be looking forward to that judgment.”

“I didn’t say I was looking forward to it.  Just wanted to know, that’s all…”

And that’s how that particular discussion ended.

EXCEPT for one point.

“I think I’d read up on God’s judgment in God’s Word IF I were you.”

“Why?”

“Even though it is REALLY hard to duplicate God’s end times judgment, man is very easily tricked.  It pays to KNOW God’s judgment, not just what’s been CLAIMED about God’s judgment.”

HAS the reader ever thought about the beginning or the end of God’s judgment upon the earth and its inhabitants?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
