Prop. 13: Message for Another Time: A Commentary By Froma Harrop – Good to see Harrop is still slinging the same slop for which her masters have always paid her so well.  From her commentary:

“Perhaps the cries of martyrdom greeting almost every plan to raise government revenues can be replaced with a more dispassionate discussion: What do we want government to do, and how can we best pay for it?”

Not a word from Harrop about why the American serf class–from which she herself seems so isolated–should be jubilant over a government that is pedal-to-the-metal bent on taking away their last few remaining rights.  Her choice to the serfs is laughable: “What do we want government to do and how can we best pay for it?”

Hilarious!  How about for starters, everyone in Washington cease their outright theft?  Theft that operates on such a large and widespread scale as to be no longer possible to hide from the underclasses.  What if the professional criminal class operating in the DC (Den of Corruption) would all stop looting the treasury for a few months and leave the money in the till for things like building bridges, fixing roads and feeding the poor?

No, one doesn’t see that choice in Froma Harrop’s column.  Gee, guess she’ll have to address that particular bugaboo, uhhh, well…never.

Harrop began as a “liberal” writer.  Hard to tell what she’s pretending to be these days.  But there’s no need to pick on Froma: she’s just another hired mouthpiece plying her trade for the Corporate Media.  Long as readers recognize her and her buddies for what they are, one supposes there’s not much harm in their vain babblings.

Why I stopped buying juice boxes (the picture will gross you out) – Good article, but one sentence is suspect: “But I recommended she cut out the juice, anyway.  Why?  Because juice is so full of sugar and calories that some have called it a gateway drug. “

Let’s call an apple an apple and not an orange.  Many products have JUICE plastered on their labels (or misleading words to that effect) and contain only a hint of juice.  Many frozen concoctions in the supermarket are 80% high fructose corn syrup and water.  Given the choice between the sugar the doctor so heartily condemns and–what?  What would the doc have children drink?  Milk?  The dairy industry is backing regulations that dump aspartame into milk without labeling.  Soda?  Please.  The only alternative is water.  Water is not bad–in fact, water is the new gold!  But give the kids a break and let them drink some real juice.  There are few alternatives…
