THE MCDONALD’S MONOPOLY SCAM

“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

The world that has been pulled over your eyes by the god of this world is a series of lies and deceptions.

People are used to being surrounded by lies. Most do not know the Bible.  Most are not saved and therefore, do not have the Holy Spirit to guide them in “all truth.”

To those in the world, the deceptions and lies are familiar; the truth is not.  That is one reason so many are deceived.

Here is one story of everyday deception.

The McDonalds Monopoly Fraud – For the first five years of the McDonalds Monopoly game, the people playing the game had ZERO chance of winning because there were no winning pieces available. The guy in charge of the game stole them all and sold them.

However, McDonald’s says everything is different now.  So come back and play and you might win a million dollars!

Really!

The attitude of those in the world charged with policing such corruption?  Attorney General John Ashcroft’s less-than-serious statement summed it up best:

“We want those involved in this type of corruption to know that breaking the law is not a game.”

This is just one story of everyday deception.  There are many more.

How many believe they can play the McDonald’s Monopoly game and win more than a bag of fries? It happened once, could it not happen again?

THE LIES AND DECEPTION OF THE WORLD

ALL who place their trust in the world are doomed to disappointment. The world is full of sin and the world is full of everyday deceptions to blind those in the world to their sin.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
—1 John 2:15-16

ALL who place their trust in the world are doomed to disappointment–and it doesn’t get better: it only gets worse.

The only alternative?

Place your trust in Jesus Christ.
