Pray For ALL Men: A Reminder

humble

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men”
–1TIMOTHY 2:1

This is not the first time this topic has been raised in these parts.

BUT, it is such an important subject–particularly in the end times–that it bears repeating.

PRAY FOR ALL MEN.

It is an important end times message for more than one reason.

  1. It is a command found in God’s Word.  The times in which we now live are NOT a time for disobedience–AS IF there was EVER a time in which disobedience was sanctioned.
  2. It is important to pray for those who most probably will receive little other such assistance.
  3. Though the wicked may talk of praying–and some even commit to it when things begin to go bad around them–we KNOW God hears the prayers of believers. This makes the prayers of believers doubly important for those who are not saved.

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
–1JOHN 5:14-15

A great man men are currently deceived.  These deluded men will not lift up prayers for their own salvation because they are deceived.

4. Jesus came into the world so that all men might be saved.  Praying for the lost is part of God’s plan for that salvation.

[Paul] directs that prayer should be made in the church for all men, and particularly for kings and magistrates, though at that time they were heathens: and he founds this direction upon the will of God, who would have all men to be saved, for which purpose He sent his Son into the world, and caused the Gospel to be preached.
British Family Bible

5. Those who are especially caught in Satan’s snare are those who have accessed (or made attempts to access) illegitimate supernatural power; i.e.,  evil or familiar spirits AND are in particular need of prayers of salvation.  These poor, lost soul believe they have tapped into a source of power denied to others.  But all they have gained is what is unimportant–and this in exchange for their eternal doom.  So, for witches, sorcerers, wizards, psychics, necromancers (those who claim they talk to the dead), charmers and others who consult with familiar spirits: the believer NEEDS to pray regularly for their deliverance.

Yes, prayers should be offered for ALL men.

And when God’s Word says “all men,” it means “ALL men“–not just those of whom the believer may be fond.

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
–1TIMOTHY 2:3-4

[The reader may consider this a gentle reminder of an important end times duty.]

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
