WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS THE LAST DAYS WILL LOOK LIKE

THE LAST DAYS CHURCH: APOSTATE AND MAN-CENTERED

Throughout the Bible, a very clear picture is painted as to what the last days–the End Times–will look like. The times will be perilous: dangerous; actually, dangerously deceptive.

And so they are.

People are interested in what the last days (also referred to as “the end times”) referred to in the Bible will look like.  There is no shortage of man-made theories of the end times.

But what does the Bible say the last days will be like?

The Bible paints a very clear picture of these days.  These days will not be carefree days for the Christian.  They will not be days of triumph for Christ’s Church.  Contrary to what many proclaim, these will not be days of revival for the Church.

The Bible says that the last days Christian Church will almost be destroyed by apostasy.

The Bible does speak of a great last days Church which is triumphant over the entire earth before Jesus comes back.

The church will be in almost total rebellion against God.  The world will follow and worship a god–but the Bible says it will not be God Almighty.  It will be a very clever, satanic counterfeit.

More about this last days Church later.

The following is what the Bible says the world will look like BEFORE the judgments of God are unleashed on a lost and rebellious world.

Matthew 24:4

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”
Matthew 24:11

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
Matthew 24:24

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”
1 Timothy 4:1-3

“Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
2 Thessalonians 2:9

“Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.”
Mark 13:12

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.”
Revelation 13:11

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
2 Timothy 4:3-4

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,”
2 Peter 3:3

“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.”
Luke 21:17

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12

“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
2 Timothy 3:5

“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.”
Jude 1:18

“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”
Matthew 24:22

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.”

“Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;”
2 Timothy 3:4

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
2 Peter 2:1

21 Bible verses on what the earth will look like in the last days.

Not a very encouraging picture for the advocates of a great end times revival.  And again, these Bible verses are showing the state of the world BEFORE God unleashes his judgments on the earth.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS THE LAST DAYS CHURCH WILL LOOK LIKE

Will the Church rise up, raise up an end times army and conquer the earth like some are insisting?  Actually, the Bible agrees with that scenario.

However…

In the time before Jesus comes back, the last days Church will be almost totally given over to apostasy.  This apostate church will rule the earth.  It will betray true believers.  The Church will kill true believers.

It will be a product of satanic deception.  The people in the Church will believe that they are worshiping God, but they are deceived and in rebellion.  This Church will triumph over the saints for a season.

So many professing Christians will be falling away from the true faith that it will look like a revival–and it will be: a huge, worldwide satanic revival.

Those professing Christians who do not have a love of the truth will be sent a strong delusion by God so that they will believe these deceptions. This Church will display great miracles, signs and wonders for the world to see.  The people in the Church will believe that God is working these miracles and wonders.

But they are deceived: the source of this Church’s power will not be God but Satan.

Make no mistake: God can and does do miracles–but the Bible clearly states that the last days are a time of trial, tribulation, testing–and choices for Christians.  God will continue to display His power on an individual basis.  But great signs and wonders for the masses will not be a product of God.

Lastly, God will judge this apostate Church and those in it.

“And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.”

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”
2 Thessalonians 2:11

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast;”
Revelation 13: 11, 13-14

“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,”
2 Thessalonians 2:8-9

“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.  For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.”

“Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.”

“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

A very important reminder that we are living in the end times. Many prophecies are being fulfilled to this effect. We must be vigilant and ready so that we are found with faith whenever Jesus returns.
