Supernatural Power in the End Times

SUPERNATURAL POWER IN THE END TIMES: The Bible says illegitimate supernatural power will abound and deceive.
SUPERNATURAL POWER IN THE END TIMES: The Bible says illegitimate supernatural power will abound and deceive.

SUPERNATURAL POWER WILL BE VERY APPARENT IN THE END TIMES.  MOST WILL BE EMPLOYED BY THE ENEMY.

The Bible declares that supernatural power exists and that it will be much apparent in the end times.

The Bible also declares that the flashiest, most promoted uses of supernatural power will be coming from Team Dragon: Satan.

There are any number of verses which warn that Satan and his minions will be employing “miracles, signs and lying wonders” to deceive the earth during this time.

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do”
Revelation 13:11, 13-14

Since the entire earth (with very few exceptions) will be worshiping the dragon (Satan), the miracles coming from the churches will almost exclusively be those from the enemy.

“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
Revelation 13:8

The employment of supernatural power for the deception of the vast majority of those who dwell on the earth does not however mean that God will not be employing supernatural power of His own.

To the contrary: He most certainly will be.

But the employment of God’s power will be more subtle; less flashy.  Various protections for believers, supernatural strengthening of those about to be martyred, power to complete various tasks assigned, etc.

God does not sit on the sidelines during the end times.  In fact, at the end, God’s power, majesty and vengeance will be on display for the entire world to see–especially all those mockers and scoffers.

“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.”
Jude 1:18

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
2 Peter 3:3-4

But God’s use of supernatural power will be God-like in its employment: exactly enough for the task, no more and no less.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28

Illegitimate supernatural power is acknowledged by both the Bible and by those who engage in it (witches, wizards, mediums, those with familiar spirits, etc. See Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The only two groups who downplay illegitimate supernatural power are 1- those who have no experience with it; and, 2- those who do but who want to keep such experiences a secret.

There will be a surge in supernatural power in the last days, both by God and by the enemy.

Believers will know the difference between the two.

Most of the rest of the world will not.

“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
1 Corinthians 1:18-19
