DAY OF THE LORD: Two Very Different Views

death reaps souls

“Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty. The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low”
–Isaiah 2:10-12

Something big IS coming.

Message to Pastors: Warning Something Big is Coming – The destruction that is coming is not for believers, although some will die by the hand of evil men.

The Day of the Lord elicits two completely different reactions. One from believers and a completely different response from non-believers.

BELIEVERS

“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
Luke 21:28

NON-BELIEVERS

“Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.”
Jeremiah 25:34

“Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.”
James 5:1

“Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.”
Isaiah 13:9

The Day of the LORD will be a day which will come as a thief upon the unwary, the lost, the sinners, the unbelieving, the wicked and the foolish.

“For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.”
–1Thessalonians 5:2

Warning: Let not the reader be surprised by that day.

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.”
–Joel 2:31

Is the reader prepared for that day?

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”
2 Corinthians 4:3
