While riding around in a car with a long-time acquaintance a few days ago, an unusual topic was raised (from seemingly nowhere).
During a lapse in the conversation, the acquaintance boldly asked, “Do you know the four signs of when Jesus is coming back?”
This made the other person pause and reflect: “Was there four signs?”
Apparently this topic had been on the acquaintance’s mind, as he continued.
“I figured if anyone would know the four signs, it would be you.”
This was met with the admission, “I was just thinking. IS THERE four signs? Where did you hear that?”
“Everybody says there are four signs. I was just checking.”
“The Bible talks about TWO signs before Jesus comes back in 2nd Thessalonians. Those were the only ones which came immediately to mind.”
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:3
It was explained that ‘falling away’ does NOT mean people get up one morning and decide not to go to their church. The Greek word translated as ‘falling away’ is aposasia, which means “rebellion.” The ‘falling away’ is a worldwide rebellion against God and His Son, Jesus Christ.
[For the record, the ‘four’ signs the person referred to were not EVER discussed.]
This was the first foray into this particular conversational jungle since the acquaintance asked (four or five weeks ago) “Would you say you are a religious man?”
At the time, it was explained that there is a GREAT difference between religion and Christianity.

And so, the topic never again was brought up.
Until the other day.
That conversation led to a pledge by BOTH of the two involved to check God’s Word to see if there were other signs which were forgotten or overlooked.
HOWEVER, it was suspected that the most important point which the conversation provided was the following.
“Be sure what you know about the end times is TRUE.”
DOES the reader have some particularly juicy stories about the end times he has heard?
It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
