Will the LORD Take Care of His People During the Last Days?

CARE FOR?

“My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.  Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.  As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.”
–Psalm 55:4-5,15-16,22-23

Those who are true followers of Jesus Christ KNOW that the LORD will take care of them during the last days.

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
–1PETER 5:6-7

While the evil and the foolish have no such knowledge and thus suffer the torment and affliction–the doubt and constant, nagging worry–which is a companion of the wicked at all times.

God’s Word declares that the wicked shall know NO peace.

“But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.”
–Isaiah 57:20-21

To all who KNOW the wicked, they KNOW that such folks may have accumulated wealth and material things.  BUT, they also KNOW that those folks have MORE THAN THEIR FAIR SHARE OF PROBLEMS–whether it be problems with their family; problems with their ‘friends;’ problems with health; or, problems with holding onto the things they have accumulated.

In most cases, the life of the wicked is NO bowl of cherries.

ON the other hand, believers may ponder their uncertain circumstance, BUT they KNOW the LORD takes care of His people.

Their reasoning goes something like this: “For YEARS, the LORD took care of me, in dozens of ways, large and small, during times which were not very dire.  It only makes sense that he would continue this care during times of torment and affliction.”

IN FACT, believers are assured MANY TIMES in God’s Word that this care of the LORD is true.

“The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”
–Psalm 121:5-8

“For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.”
–Proverbs 2:6-8

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
–Psalm 84:11

“Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.”
–Psalm 97:10

So, YES: God WILL take care of His people during the last days.

It is declared to be so in God’s Word.

And God’s Word is TRUE.

[NOTE: In many cases, when the Word of God refers to ‘saving’ the saints, it is referring to an eternal salvation, not necessarily a more-temporary, physical one–though the LORD certainly does provide for the believer’s physical needs during this life. In any case, it is all good.]

DOES the reader believe in the promises of God written in His Word?

OR, does the reader believe that powerlessness is the lot of the believer?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
