Gnosticism, false knowledge and the occult

“O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science [knowledge] falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.”

Rosh Hashanah and Its Hidden Secret!– The Gnostics were famous for many false teachings.  But one of their biggest crowd-pleasers was that there was “hidden” or “secret” knowledge, beyond God’s Word.

And if people played their cards right, the Gnostics would share their hidden, secret knowledge with them!

In fact, the word occult means “hidden” and is a more accurate term than the “knowledge” the gnostics professed to possess.

Today, the Gnostics are still serving up their same crowd-pleasing trick.

By-and-large, in 2013 America, we call their primary audience “christians”: false believers, counterfeits, tares, pretenders, church-goers, pew-sitters, imposters, those who live a lie.

The apostle Paul clearly warned the early Church about such “spiritual” imposters and their calling card of so-called “knowledge.”

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”
–Colossians 2:8

They have Bible Codes; secret knowledge of “Jewish” [synagogue of Satan] traditions as they supposedly pertain to Christianity; new knowledge on the hidden meanings of scriptures which were unknown to the original Church; and tie-ins with occult sources that prove that Christians should be looking for a second coming of nephilim, ETs and monsters instead of Jesus.

Instead of ordinary, run-of-the-mill divination–which is clearly forbidden by the Bible–they have computerized codes that reveal secret information about the future they claim is contained in the Bible!

They peddle “Christian dream interpretation“ to teach christians about a “secret dream language.”

Some masquerade as hyper-spiritual gurus by dropping “Jewish-sounding” names for Jesus and God Almighty.

His Name is Jesus

Instead of astrology, they endlessly plot the course of the (blood) moons, sun and stars to enlighten church folk with hidden knowledge about when certain events on the prophetic calendar will take place.  Though the most clever of them will claim that they are not setting dates–they then proceed to offer charts, graphs and mountains of “evidence” why such dates should be noted.

Instead of the clear meaning of scripture, they substitute the (supposedly Jewish) traditions of men to pull apart the Body of Christ;  teaching of a special class of hidden “elite” members of the Body of Christ–even though the Bible clearly states that “all the members of that one body, being many, are one body.” [1 Corinthians 12:12-27]

Paul clearly teaches that every member of the Body of Christ is important in its own way.

“And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.”

Yet, modern-day prophetic Gnostics have crept in–no, have been invited in and EMBRACED after being promoted by the world–who teach that there are two classes of members in the Body of Christ.  One class is privileged with special knowledge of God–and the other class of members will be left behind by their brethren because they did not partake of this secret, hidden knowledge.

This is contrary to what Paul–one of the early Church’s fiercest opponents of gnosticism–taught.

And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked. That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.”
–1 Corinthians 12:23-25

But what “God hath tempered together,” the Gnostics have no problem ripping asunder.

There are modern-day gnostics teaching that there is a “special anointing” available to “apostles and prophets” who will do signs and wonders.

There are even schools where people can learn the secrets on how to obtain this anointing and perform such miracles.

Many people claim they are hungry for God–but it is a hunger for signs and wonders which abounds.  Jesus warned that this hunger will be fulfilled in the end times before He returned.

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
–Matthew 24:24

What does “Christ” mean?

“Anointed one.”

So there will be those claiming to be anointed of God–maybe even a special anointing!–performing signs and wonders.

Gnostics are alive and well and tickling ears in 2013 America.

Many times, what they are offering is little more than warmed-over occultism.
