The Wicked Will Be Afflicted: A Promise

Wicked will be afflictged: a guarantee

“But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.”
–Isaiah 57:20-21

The wicked live lives which are exciting.

The wicked live lives which are full of drama.

The wicked live lives which are full of affliction and woes.

“He preserveth not the life of the wicked”
–Job 36:6

Everywhere one looks, one is reminded of how the wicked are afflicted. But because the wicked are deceived, they do not make the connection between their constant problems and their spiritual condition.

The wicked are constantly looking over their shoulder.

“The wicked flee when no man pursueth”
–Proverbs 28:1

Workers of Iniquity: Always Looking Over their Shoulders

WORKERS OF INIQUITY: This is Their Story

Many times, to distract the wicked from their endless affliction, the prince of this world [Satan] ensures they have money.

And because they have money–even though they may suffer greatly everyday in every other way–the wicked feel they are blessed.

Distraction, Distraction, Distraction: And then You Die

Whether times runs out because of one’s death or whether it runs out because of the return of Jesus: Satan wants the lost to stay busy until it’s too late.

“The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous: The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.”
–Psalm 147:8-9

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”
2 Corinthians 4:3
