Preparing for the End Times

LOOKING FOR AN END TIMES SIGN

PREPARING FOR WHAT THE WORLD DOES NOT BELIEVE WILL HAPPEN

While searching the Internet, two articles were stumbled upon.

Both articles concerned the end times.

Both articles were written by those whose fields of expertise are not biblical.

Both articles present scientific, that is to say non-biblical, views of their end times scenarios.

However, both articles take their stands at opposite ends of a man-made spectrum. The first  piece is from 2014; the second, from 2012.

Apocalypse soon: the scientists preparing for the end times

A growing community of scientists, philosophers and tech billionaires believe we need to start thinking seriously about the threat of human extinction.

Apocalypse Not: Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Worry About End Times

This is the question posed by the website 2012apocalypse.net. “super volcanos? pestilence and disease? asteroids? comets? antichrist? global warming? nuclear war?” the site’s authors are impressively open-minded about the cause of the catastrophe that is coming at 11:11 pm on december 21 this year. but they have no doubt it will happen. after all, not only does the Mayan Long Count calendar end that day, but “the sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in about 26,000 years.”

Again, neither article agrees with scripture.

The first article (which posits the “threat of human extinction“) would be closer to the truth if it referred to the “extinction of the wicked.”

All of the millions of words written about “Doomsday” are just that: words. The Day of the Lord is only a “doomsday” for the wicked. For believers–few though they may be–it is a long-awaited day of redemption.

The second article takes the opposite approach: there is nothing for anyone to worry about in the end times.

Of course, we know that the media blitz about the 2012 Mayan calendar doom was also just so many wasted words. Those words (as well as the entire Mayan calendar fiasco) was just so much trying to discredit what is REALLY to take place in the future. There will be those who disbelieve the biblical account because they fell for the 2012 Mayan calendar hoax.

Believers (who are commanded to constantly watch) are assured that they will know the “season” of the end times.

However, the Bible is clear that no man knows the day or the hour of the climax of human history.

“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
–Matthew 24:36

The second article also makes its case for deluded man to prepare for the end times in a physical manner; i.e., prepping.

The Bible is clear: no man can physically prepare for what’s to come upon the earth. The Bible is also clear that this does not stop men from trying–particularly by resorting to underground bunkers and havens built in mountains.

“And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.  In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;  To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.”
–Isaiah 2:19-21

“And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”
–Revelation 6:15-17

The reader may be fascinated by accounts of the end times according to those who do not believe in such things (such as the two listed articles). IF the reader wants to know the entire, wholly-truthful accounts of what takes place, he is forced to consult God’s Word (the Bible).

OF COURSE, many do not believe in such a “primitive” source.

So is there nothing to do to prepare for the end?

There is.

END TIMES PREPARATION: 15 Ways to Prepare for the End Times

But the preparation involves spiritual, rather than physical, preparation.

But this is not something modern man wants to hear.

Which is why modern man will be totally taken by surprise at the mass destruction of that day.

“For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
–Matthew 24:38-39

IS the reader uneasy about the future? It will NOT get better: it only gets worse.

HAS the reader prepared for what is coming upon the earth?

HAS the reader trusted in the words of man for his preparation?

HAS the reader trusted in the supplies of man for his preparation?

THOUGH time grows short, there is still time left to change direction (repent) and call upon the name of the LORD.

Do not wait until it is too late.

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
