The Automobile Age: Short and Sweet

cars

IF a product or circumstance has existed for most of a person’s life, that person just assumes that the product or circumstance will ALWAYS continue.

After all, that product or circumstance has been around for as long as that person can remember: so in that person’s mind, the product/circumstance always has been and always will be.

Any suggestions to the contrary are little more than NONSENSE (at least in that person’s mind).

So it is with the automobile.

The Age of the Automobile has been relatively SHORT one: the American public began buying cars (Ford’s Model T) a little over 110 years ago.  One-hundred-ten years is a VERY SHORT time–even by human standards.

HOWEVER, almost everyone alive today has known NOTHING but cars and the personal automobile. So, in almost everyone’s mind, the personal automobile always has been and always will be.

BUT the shelf life of the car is to be a short one.  The signs are EVERYWHERE–particularly in the news media which functions as a perfectly effective propaganda delivery system.

The public is already being prepared for the car’s demise.

The propaganda push to convince the public that cars are no longer such a good idea seems to be a FOUR-PRONGED one.

1- Cars are bad for the environment.

2- Ordinary people can no longer afford a car.

3- There is no money to fix and maintain roads.

4- Driving cars, in general, is just a very bad (ineffective, inefficient) way of conducting one’s daily affairs. IF the public will not give up cars on its own, government will be forced to take steps to pry cars from our cold, dead hands.

OF COURSE, the Bible states that at the climax of human history (the return of Jesus Christ), cars will already be a thing of the past.

There are NO motorized vehicles at the battle of Armageddon: the great end times army of the world will be sitting on HORSES.

“And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.”
–Revelation 19:17-18

So, the end of the Automobile Age is upon us.

And it doesn’t matter if the reader buries his head in the sand and pretends that on the morrow things will continue as they are today.

This is a friendly reminder for readers who have their hearts set on continuing to drive their car, whether to work or to the movies or to pick up the kiddies or to shopping or to the doctors or…

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
