Know Thy Enemy

“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.”
–Luke 17:26

Much of the modern world’s occult activity, rituals and symbols can be traced back to the great time of wickedness which consumed the ancient world before the great flood of God reset mankind.

“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.”
–Genesis 6:5, 11-12

The whole earth was filled with the wickedness of man–and as the end times world will be like the world before the flood–so shall the modern world be.

“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
–Matthew 24:37

Much of the occult information from before the flood–whether it be true or not–is referred to by the wicked as “wisdom.”  And this so-called “wisdom” is HIGHLY valued and sought after by those who desire to control the world, the things of the world and the people who live upon it.

Of this information, a fair share concerns familiar spirits, a kind of personal evil spirit attached to various of the wicked.

There is much of this ancient “knowledge” which is untrue and which entangles a person in the abomination of consulting with familiar spirits–in whatever form that may take.

“There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD”
–Deuteronomy 18:10-12

Those who consult with familiar spirits often try to hide this fact behind a bevy of stories about the source of their power, how they access it and its nature.

The Normalizing of Illegitimate Supernatural Power in the End Times

Thus, ALL claim various claims:  witches and wizards claim to employ SPELLS, hexes and curses; necromancers claim to get their information from the DEAD; astrologers claim that their information comes from the STARS; fortune tellers claim their information comes from reading SIGNS and OMENS; charmers claim their control over various creatures is due to a number of different gadgets, gizmos and gimmicks (which work because they possess specialized knowledge of the matter); diviners use many of the same tricks as charmers, especially the one about how their various props (sticks, rods, pendulums, etc.) are the REAL source of their information.

ALL of these–and a great many more–consult with familiar spirits.

In fact, there is an excellent chance that the reader knows someone who consults with a familiar spirit.

Illegitimate Supernatural Power is Quite Common in the End Times

BUT, as these deceivers seek to deceive others, they in turn are deceived by the very spirit(s) they claim to control.

Familiar (and other evil) spirits are a JUDGMENT from God against those who break the warning NOT to consult with a familiar spirit–for ANY reason.

As such, the familiar spirit (though it may deceive the worker of iniquity about this matter) is FIRMLY in control–rather than the one who consults with the familiar spirit.  The familiar spirit is JUDGMENT and judgment from God is not pleasant.

How many times has one who consults with a familiar spirit seen their lives spiral ever downward?

BUT, they are CONVINCED their familiar spirit is a great TREASURE that other men do not have.

Instead of a judgment which falls upon them, their activities and those around them.

In His great wisdom, God has devised a PERFECT judgment for those who transgress the very clear warnings contained in His Word.  At any time, the worker of iniquity could renounce his familiar spirit, change directions and end his judgment.

However, as is usually the case, the worse things get, the more the person under judgment CLINGS to their familiar spirit.

This leads a great many to have a combination of a familiar spirit  and a complete hot mess of a life.

This could be avoided by paying attention to the warnings of God’s Word–instead of the sweet words of other men.

MUCH of this could be avoided if Ephesians 6:12 was recalled.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

In other words, if the workers of iniquity would simply keep in mind:

“KNOW THY ENEMY.”

(Actually, if the workers of iniquity could properly determine who their REAL enemy is.)

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
