The Man of Sin Has a Big Mouth

It is surprising that one of the most detailed of accounts concerning the end times “man of sin” (also called the “false prophet” by God’s Word and the “false Messiah” by men) is almost completely ignored by the many who claim to be “Bible teachers.”

2THESSALONIAN 2:1-3 informs the reader that the revealing of the man of sin is one of the two sure signs that there is not much time left before Jesus returns to gather His saints to Him and institute His rule over the earth.

“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,  That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition”

The latter chapters of the Book of Revelation informs WHERE the man of sin (false prophet, false Messiah) ends up once Jesus Christ returns.

“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”
–Revelation 19:20

“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
–Revelation 20:10

BUT the one aspect of the man of sin which is often overlooked?

The man of sin has a big mouth.

This is pointed out in Revelation 13, which calls the man of sin the “mouth” of the end times world ruler known as “the beast.”

(NOTE: The worldwide kingdom this tyrant rules is ALSO called “the beast.” The reader may know to which the Bible is referring by context.)

“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.”
–Revelation 13:5

More than one book of the Bible notes the blasphemies of the man of sin’s mouth.

“And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.”
–Revelation 13:6

The Book of Daniel–which called the man of sin “the little horn”–made note of the man of sin’s big mouth as well.

“I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.”
–Daniel 7:8

“I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake”
–Daniel 7:11

An angel appeared and Daniel asked of the meaning of the beast, its horns and the little horn.

“Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them”
–Daniel 7:18-21

So the angel explained to Daniel the meaning of what Daniel had seen.

“Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time [three and one-half years].”
–Daniel 7:24-25

The reader may make note that Daniel had mentioned the mouth of the man of sin (the little horn), as did the angel.

Not much–beyond what is necessary–is known about the man of sin.

BUT, it IS known for sure that he will have a big mouth, speaking blasphemies against God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

HAS the reader heard of the man of sin?

DOES the reader believe that there will be a worldwide kingdom which encompasses the entire earth?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
