“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. “
–Proverbs 11:30
Regardless of the many stories told about the “good old days,” winning souls for the kingdom of heaven was NEVER an easy job, where hundreds lined up to change direction [repent] and place their faith for the future on Jesus Christ.
Really it wasn’t.
God’s Word informs that FEW find the path to life; i.e., FEW find eternal salvation.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
–Matthew 7:13-14
This simple fact ought to give pause to the thousands who believe that they are blessed eternally because they show up at a building we call a “church.”
But it doesn’t.
Either they don’t believe or they don’t care: either way, they are deceived and enjoying the life such deception provides.
SO winning souls was NEVER the easy task in years gone by.
Eternal salvation was NEVER an easy road for those who desired the kingdom of heaven.
Offering a path to eternal salvation was NEVER an easy job for those who desired to win souls for the kingdom of heaven.
HOWEVER, winning souls in the end times is a matter of hand-to-hand combat with the enemy over a few individuals.
The believer is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and pray to God for His mercy to fall on the deceived.
PREACH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST because it is the “power of God unto salvation.”
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
PRAY TO GOD FOR HIS MERCY FOR THE DECEIVED because God can do ANYTHING–including open the eyes of those who have them firmly welded shut. God’s mercy can open the hearts and minds of men to change directions [repent] NO MATTER what their current state of affairs may be.
In the end times, winning souls is NOT glitzy or glamourous. There is NOT a lot of hand clapping, foot stomping or shouting taking place.
In the end times, winning souls is an often-arduous task; an erosive labor, much as when water drip-drip-drips upon a rock.
As it always has been.
DOES the reader believe the stories of those who claim that there are MILLIONS who want to hear the Word of God?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
