Never Forget?

NEVER FORGET?

IF the reader was cognizant during the attacks of 9/11/2001 and their aftermath, the reader will, no doubt, remember the MANY folks–particularly politicians and government employees–who solemnly swore “NOT to forget” those mindful times.

And yet, here we are: a mere 21 years after the day we swore we would “never forget.”

The drama of COVID-19 and it’s many rules and regulations which are claimed to ‘keep everyone safe’–but seemingly don’t–along with the daily dose of menace from Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Donald Trump and Joe Biden, as well as the THOUSANDS of ordinary, everyday personal concerns have driven the events of 9/11 from most American minds.

OR, at least they have moved those events to the back burner.

Sunday (yesterday) was the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Did it seem as if the country would “never forget“?

OR, did it seem that the country primarily shrugged it shoulders and decided that “this too shall pass“?

Man is such that he does quite well BECAUSE he forgets many unpleasant happenings and circumstance.

9/11 could be characterized as ‘unpleasant.’

So, it would seem that the declaration to “never forget’ runs up against man’s survival mechanism.

Where will we be in 24 more years?

How about in 44 more years?

WILL the reader “never forget“?

OR, will the reader remember whenever it occurs to him?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
