HOW IS FALSE REALITY EVEN POSSIBLE And WHY Is It So Prevalent In The Times In Which We Now Live? – Part Two

False Reality: The reality deceptionPART TWO

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you”
–Mark 13:3-5

[In Part One, it was discussed how hard it is for so many people to fathom what the term “false reality” even means or how it could apply to an average person’s life.

In Part Two, that discussion continues.]

HOW IS FALSE REALITY EVEN POSSIBLE And WHY Is It So Prevalent In The Times In Which We Now Live? – Part Two

Previously, an example was provided of someone whose reality was false.

Suppose you believe you are living the good American life: good job; kids are well-behaved and doing well in school; happily married for 10 years; nice house.

Nice life, huh?

NOW suppose you find out that your wife has been carrying on a long-standing affair with another man for the past 10 years. Suddenly, your life seems to be a lie: what you thought was a major plus in your existence (happy marriage) is a HUGE minus (unfaithful wife from the beginning). Your reality has changed drastically, EVEN THOUGH NOTHING YOU HAVE DONE PHYSICALLY HAS CHANGED.

So many points of reference in your life are NOT what you supposed them to be.

NOTHING you have done has changed.

You still get in your car and put the key in the ignition and it starts and you drive to work.

But EVERYTHING about your existence has now changed.  Everything you previously used to evaluate your happiness; your success; your LIFE has changed forever–and much for the worse.

Again, NOTHING you have done physically has changed.  But you find out that your entire foundation was rotten. Even though you are numb, you struggle to find something familiar to grasp onto in order to begin over.
–HOW IS FALSE REALITY EVEN POSSIBLE And WHY Is It So Prevalent In The Times In Which We Now Live? – Part One

Now, to continue our previously-cited example, suppose that more than one important aspect of your life is not as you have imagined it.

For example, imagine you have a wonderful retirement plan (to which you and your employer have both contributed over the years).

Further, imagine you have made many plans about how you and your spouse will spend your retirement years.

NOW imagine that the company which holds your retirement funds suddenly goes out of business and you have no recourse to any of the funds you had previously saved.

You believed you had sound financial plans for your retirement.  But now, those plans are ruined. This is in addition to finding out that your decade-old marriage is a lie.

Again, you did not do anything differently: but the reality you believed you had is not the same as the reality you actually have.

As disconcerting as these examples are, imagine that EVERYTHING in your life is a lie.

  • Your relationships are not what you imagine them to be.
  • How you advance at work or at school is not what you have been told.
  • Your government is not working for your good; instead, it is working for a “greater good” of people you do not even know.
  • Everything you have been told about your health and how you stay healthy is not the truth.
  • If you attend church, your church is not as you imagine it to be.
  • The history you once memorized in school is found to be only a series of stories told to mislead you or to cause you to act in an “approved” way.

Again, these are only a few examples.  To imagine you living in a false reality, EVERYTHING would be different than you suppose it to be.

Everything.

Every aspect of your life would not be as you have believed it to be.  What would your reaction be?

Of course you would feel as if you had lost your bearings.  But how would you find your bearings if everything is a lie? What would you use as your “landmark” to help you find your way in this completely new; frighteningly new world?

You might ask yourself

“How could this have happened?”

“How is this even possible?”

How could I have not noticed any of this?

And then–if you were completely honest with yourself–you would arrive at the answer: “I DID NOTICE a few things…from time-to-time.  But I did not pay attention to them. I chalked them up to “glitches” or “coincidences” or “strange events which have no explanation.”

It was easier to ignore those many things which “did not make sense” than it was to examine them and try to discover why and how they continued to take place, and more importantly, how they fit into your life and the reality you believe you inhabit.

You ignored these red flags and warnings because it was easier to ignore them than to ask question about the most basic foundations of what you believed your life was based on.

It’s probably nothing.”

It IS nothing.  I won’t even remember this a week from now.”

If it meant anything important, others would be talking about this.  They are not, so it must not be anything important.”

And so you put it–whatever “it” was that day–out of your mind and forgot it.

Until now.

Most people notice the little cracks in the fake and phony reality they have constructed.

Constructing One’s Own Reality Begins with Self-Deception

Almost everyone–not only notices the cracks in the reality which has been built for you, but–even remarks to others (perhaps a close friend) whenever these “glitches” occur and are noticed.

But the vast majority would rather just “live their life:” a life of maximum comfort and ease and minimum muss-and-fuss and hassles.

They would much rather “get along” rather than create waves.

End Times Deception of Sickness and Health

In fact, it takes so much effort to re-direct a life which has been surrounded by deceit, most would rather “wait and see what happens“; and try to “make the best of it.”

IS there any advice one can give to such people who discover they live surrounded by a false world?

Yes, actually there are a few things to recommend–but it is not an easy kind of advice: it is based on the Bible.

1- “Develop a love of the truth.”

2- “Change the direction in your life. (This is what the word “repent” means.)”

3- “Throw yourself on the mercy of God Almighty.”

4- “Submit to Jesus Christ.”

As stated, these are not “easy” suggestions, particularly in the times in which we live.

But they will save anyone who sincerely is tired of living a lie and wants to break free.

At some point, this discussion will continue.

WOULD the reader like to change his life?

OR, would the reader–like most–prefer just to think about it and do nothing until it is too late?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
