The Freshest Year

fresh

2020 has started already and already there are those who are grumbling that it is starting out much like the last two or three did.

Which most likely is true.

Perhaps the reader has even heard some of this mumbling himself?

HOWEVER, that does NOT mean that 2020 HAS to be like 2019, 2018 or 2017 for everyone.

For example, there will be a very select FEW in 2020 who place their faith for the future–including their eternity–on Jesus Christ.  THIS will be a HUGE difference for them from previous years–no matter how good or bad they believed those years to be.

2020 will then be a completely new year for these fewest of the few.

2020 will then be a year UNLIKE any other for this small group.

2020 will then be the FRESHEST of years.

These folks will then have no other year in their life to compare to this FRESHEST of years.

The reader may wonder why this might be. There are many, many various aspects which will signal to one of those few that their life is forever transformed.

A few of these are:

    1. They will get, what can best be described as, a “download” of knowledge and information on a WIDE range of subjects.
    2. AND they will not know where this information came from or how they suddenly KNOW it.  But they will know it and, more importantly, they will immediately know it is TRUE.  Proof will be provided later to confirm this information.
    3. A vivid understanding of what is good and what is not good will be imparted. There will not be a very good understanding of HOW this information was obtained, but the person will KNOW what is important in goodness, as well as what is important to the furtherance of wickedness.
    4. A person will realize what God considers sin and will strive to avoid sinning. This does not mean that the person will stop ALL sinning; only that the person will work to avoid sinning. Some sin may be a struggle and come and go. A new understanding of sin and God’s disapproval of sin will be obtained–though the person will NOT understand how this circumstance came to be.
    5. The person will STOP certain behaviors–some he will not even consider to be “bad.”
    6. These behaviors will cease and there will barely be a realization that any conscious effort was made to stop  them. One person claimed that “It was not me. It was like someone else stopped my smoking. It was easy.”
    7. The person will WANT to KNOW what God’s Word says. If he knows what God’s Word says, he knows how he can better please God.

All of this will make the year when it happens the FRESHEST year ever for the person whom it happens to.

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
-–1 Corinthians 15:3-8

One of the favorite stories of the tares concerns the EXACT MOMENT they supposedly were saved.

“It was a Tuesday, August 19, 1987 and I’d just come home from work when I got saved.”

Real believers find it hard to point to the exact day and time because they are not really aware what has happened to them for a week or two.

A few notes on those wishing to know more about eternal salvation.

1- It is NOT up to the individual if he is saved or not. This is one of the fallacies taught by the churches: that a person “decides” for the LORD and he is saved.

This is NOT what the Bible teaches.

God’s Word teaches that, first of all, God saves who he wants.

“For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.”
–Romans 9:17-18

“And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.”
–Exodus 33:19

It is not up to the person. It is up to God and whether God shows mercy on that person as to whether that person obtains eternal salvation or not.

“For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”
–Romans 9:15-16

So all of the people who waited until the last minute and had a “deathbed conversion” experience are likely disappointed in its results.

To all of the readers who are throwing their hands in the air and exclaiming“What’s the use?!”, a few words of encouragement are offered.

While God is not interested in those who think of eternal salvation as “fire insurance” or a “Get out hell free” card;

God IS interested in finding people who sincerely want to know God and who SEARCH for God.

“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”
–Proverbs 8:17

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
–Jeremiah 29:13

A person can shorten his search by sincerely believing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

If 2020 is the year that the reader SINCERELY searches for God WITH ALL OF HIS HEART;

IF 2020 is the year that the reader puts his trust for the future in Jesus Christ by believing the gospel;

then 2020 will likely be the FRESHEST year the reader has ever experienced.

Will 2020 be a FRESH year for the reader?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
