“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.”
–Revelation 13:3
There may be no greater prophetic chapter in the Bible than Revelation 13.
The chapter reveals MUCH end times information that is nowhere else to be found in God’s Word.
It is Revelation 13 which contains the entire data sheet about the MARK OF THE BEAST (Revelation 13:16-18).
It is Revelation 13 which contains many important details about the man of sin (the false prophet; the false messiah).
It is Revelation 13 which also contains much useful information on the one-world government; the one-world government’s composition; and, the world’s acceptance of the beast government.
And so, it is Revelation 13–EXCLUSIVELY in God’s Word–which relates what is known about the ‘deadly wound’ suffered by one of the heads of the world beast government. OR RATHER, the deadly wound AS IT WERE.
The phrase “as it were” is a parenthetical phrase used to point out that another part of the sentence is either not quite accurate or a metaphor. You can think of it as having the same meaning of “in other words,” “in a manner of speaking” or, more literally, “but that’s just a close approximation of what I really mean.”
So how does ‘as it were’ affect the meaning of the beast’s deadly wound?
FIRST, it is important to determine who or what beast mentioned in Revelation 13:3 is referring to.
God’s Word is the absolute guide in this manner–and the Bible states that the ‘beasts’ are either 1) kingdoms [nations] or 2) the kings [leaders] who rule those kingdoms. Which is which is determined by the context of the sentence in question. Since there are NO kings mentioned in the Bible having more than one head, the ‘beast’ referred to is a kingdom: in short, the end times one-world government.
“After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.”
–Daniel 7:7-8
“Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.”
–Daniel 7:23
Practically ALL of the smiling wolves who operate as ‘Bible teachers’ teach that the ‘beast’ in Revelation 3 is a MAN and this MAN suffers a mortal head wound.
The ‘Bible teacher’ who teaches otherwise is unheard of.
It is telling that God’s Word ALSO reveals HOW the beast’s wound was achieved.
By a ‘sword.’
“And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.”
–Revelation 13:14
In God’s Word, “Sword” is VERY OFTEN a synonym for “war.”
So, there is an end times country which is one of the leaders of the one-world government and this country APPEARS to suffer an overwhelming defeat–before making what APPEARS to be a miraculous recovery–and just not any old recovery: this country makes a ‘MIRACULOUS’ recovery.
So much so that the men who dwell upon the earth worship the world-wide government because of this ‘miracle.’
HOWEVER, one thing the reader might keep in mind: the deadly head wound suffered by the SWORD is ‘AS IT WERE.’
DOES the reader know of any countries which might fit this description?
It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
