The world has made it the IDEAL of open-mindedness.
‘Questioning EVERYTHING’ has become a way of demonstrating that one is open to ‘new ideas.’
From Why Now Is The Time To Question Everything—And Refresh Your Career And Your Future:
Now is indeed the time to embrace your inner devil’s advocate and ask all the right questions about all the important things. Asking plenty of questions can help you in many ways—from growing your career and yourself to improving your contributions and your relationships.
Growth and development. One of the hallmarks of wisdom (no matter what your age), is realizing how much you don’t know. When you ask questions, you pave the way for your own growth and development. The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which you tend to think you know more than you do. When you have a little knowledge of something, you don’t know what you don’t know. You can overestimate your abilities.
THE WORLD–and the prince of this world (Satan)–hold up the questioning of authority as a sign of WISDOM and OPEN-MINDEDNESS.
THE WORLD challenges God’s authority because THE WORLD is infamous for challenging God’s Word. What does God’s Word have to say on the matter?
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”
–James 1:5-6
ALL who have sincerely asked God for wisdom have not been disappointed.
And God’s Word will back up that contention.
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
–Matthew 7:7-8
NOW, the previous thoughts do NOT apply to the wicked, who ask as a form of VERIFICATION for their DOUBTS.
“Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
–Jeremiah 29:12-13
THE KEY is to ask without a lack of faith. THE KEY is to ask SINCERELY.
Those who question God’s power and control do NOT display OPEN-MINDEDNESS so much as they demonstrate a lack of FAITH in that which they cannot see.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
–Hebrews 11:1
IF one has FAITH, one realizes the LIMITLESS power of God.
“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
–John 1:3
IF one has little or NO faith, one only possesses the many empty questions posed out of that ignorance.
“Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth. The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them. He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity. His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.”
–Psalm 10:1-7
The reader has his choice: he may side with ‘mischief and vanity’ OR he chooses the unending power of God.
Ponder for a moment: WHAT choice has the reader made?
(The reader will have SURELY made a choice–even if he does not realize it.)
It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
Make Your Calling and Election Sure: End Times Survival
DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation
THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
—1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
