Beyond the Normal, Ordinary, Run-of-the-Mill Deception

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”
–Mark 13:3-6

The end times world is a place which is steeped in lies, half-truths and deception.

The truth is such a foreign concept to modern man, that his ENTIRE reality is little more than an interconnecting web of fanciful stories and tall tales.

YET, modern man is oblivious to being surrounded by such lies for a number of reasons.

  1. Modern man has had these tales drilled into him from a young age, particularly by the indoctrination of the school system.
  2. The culture of modern man is very singular: controlled by the same people who provide the seemingly-dischordant voices of disagreement and who sell modern man what he is told he needs in order to prosper and be happy.
  3. Practically EVERY facet of modern man’s existence reinforces these lies by re-telling them while adding new ones.  Whenever modern man turns on his TV, signs onto his computer, glances at a roadside billboard advertisement, powers up his smartphone, tunes to a radio station while in his car, listens to a CD of his favorite music–even when relaxing by working a crossword puzzle–another layer of lies of the world are told, re-told and then, told a third time.  This constant buzz of lies is the background noise which modern man accepts as part of his reality.
  4. Modern man believes these lies largely because HE WANTS TO BELIEVE THEM. Maybe he is more comfortable believing as everyone around him believes; perhaps he is uncomfortable with the truth because the lies which surrounds him offer him the security of sameness and routine; maybe he is comfortable with lies because they allow him to more easily plan for the future.

However, the stories modern man are now told every day PALE when contrasted to the lies modern man will be asked to believe during the last days.

The last days lies modern man will be asked to swallow are real whoppers.

These are NOT the ordinary, everyday, run-of-the-mill lies which modern man routinely accepts.  These will be lies which will affect not only the present life of modern man, but his ETERNAL judgment as well.

What are some of these incredible lies with will be offered (and which will be believed by all who dwell upon the earth, whose names are not written in the Lamb’s book of life)?

  1. Modern man will be asked to believe that the man of sin (who God’s Word also calls the “false prophet“)–the fake Messiah–is really God’s Son, sent to save the world–not Jesus Christ. [To assist modern man believing this lie, God will send him a “strong delusion.” “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” –2THESSALONIANS 2:10-12]
  2. Modern man will be asked to believe the ultimate power of the world lies in the dragon and his followers.
  3. Modern man will be asked to believe in the power of MAN.  Instead of being a small part of God’s creation, modern man will believe he is supremely important and the source of both the world’s good things and its problems.
  4. Consequentially, modern man will believe that MAN has the power to fix the problems of the world because modern man believes the problems of the world have been created by other men.
  5. Modern man will be asked to disbelieve God’s Word–the ONLY truth in a fallen, deceitful world–and to instead trust in the words of other men who have been raised up as authorities by Satan and the world (scientists, doctors, educators, politicians, religious leaders, military commanders).
  6. By disbelieving the Word of God, modern man ALSO disbelieves (and therefore, ignores) the many warnings contained within.
  7. Modern man will believe the many blasphemies of the man of sin–particularly all of those aimed at Jesus Christ.

There are other lies told in the end times–but those listed above are a few of the main ones.

Modern man will believe these lies because modern man has MUCH practice believing that which is not true.

Modern man even believes those HE KNOWS LIE TO HIM (the government, the media, corporations, advertisements, religious leaders, etc.).

Modern man believes all of these lies because modern man is deceived.

“And the great dragon…that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world”
–Revelation 12:9

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast”
–Revelation 13:11,13-14

And deception is a spiritual problem.

HAS the reader put much thought into the lies he will be told in the near future?

DOES the reader know that the authorities of the world lie to him now?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?
