The Prayers of the Wicked

A  great deal has been written by the worldly concerning their “prayers to God” or “their prayers.”

Many worldly pieces which claim to be about prayers to the Almighty are REALLY attacks on such prayer and those who do it.

Some world pieces on prayer claim to be “how-to” guides by the worldly.

Still other worldly pieces use prayer–a holy communication between God and those who love and fear Him–as a way to promote some action or event of the world.

BUT, does it even do any good for those who stand apart from God’s grace and mercy to pray to Him–particularly when such men get scared or anxious?

The answer is found in God’s Word and the answer is VERY clear: NO.

NO, God does not even HEAR the prayer of the wicked.

NO, God does not even enjoy the prayers of the wicked.

NO, God considers such attempts to contact Him as ABOMINATIONS.

“He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.”
–Proverbs 28:9

“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me”
–Psalm 66:18

“Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.”
–John 9:31

“For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul? Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?”
–Job 27:8-9

IN FACT, God’s Word is VERY CLEAR that there is a HUGE gulf between the prayers of the wicked and the prayers of those who fear the LORD.

“The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.”
–Proverbs 15:8

IN FACT, God will NOT even acknowledge those public displays if they are done by a non-believer.

“When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.”
–Jeremiah 14:12

One tip-off that the prayers offered to God are falling upon deaf ears is when the one doing the praying is asking for some WORLDLY blessing. This happens a LOT at political events where those present are looking for worldly power to solve their problems–but just to be on the safe side (or for the sake of appearances)–they offer up prayers for their cause.

To all those readers who are saying to themselves “I’m not wicked!  I try to do good all of the time!”  

God’s Word ALSO repeatedly refers to the wicked as “foolish.”

So basically: IF one is not really interested in following God’s commandments, God is not really interested in hearing your prayers.

DOES the reader ever wonder why his prayers to God go unanswered?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
