HOW DOES ONE KNOW IF HE HAS BEEN BORN AGAIN?

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

The quite-legitimate question was posed this past week,

“How does someone KNOW they have been born again? It’s not like God announces in a loud voice, ‘Hey! This person has been born again!’ Right? How do you know? If it ever happens, how will I know?”

The answer given–upon reflection–wandered all over the landscape. It began with one’s own experiences, naturally enough.

“As hard as it might seem to believe, you might not know you’ve been born again FOR WEEKS. Myself? I considered everything that happened and a few WEEKS later said to myself, “I think I’ve been born again! I’m going to heaven!”

“So, it might be a few WEEKS until you know for sure.”

“Yeah, okay. But how do you know FOR SURE!”

“Well, no voice announces it. You have to consider all of the things which have happened and compare them to what the Bible says on the matter.”

“Like what? What does the Bible say?”

“Well, the Bible says you get God’s Holy Spirit to dwell in you. NOT God’s whole spirit, just a down payment of sorts–to help you along until you get the whole spirit at the end–for what is to come. This ‘down payment’ of the Spirit is called THE EARNEST in the Bible.”

And given the earnest of the Spirit. The word here used (from sfragizw) from the Heb. HEBREW means, properly, a pledge given to ratify a contract; a part of the price, or purchase-money; a first payment; that which confirms the bargain, and which is regarded as a pledge that all the price will be paid. The word occurs in the Septuagint and Hebrew, in Ge 38:17,18,20. In the New Testament it occurs only in this place, and in 2Co 5:5; Eph 1:14–in each place in the same connexion as applied to the Holy Spirit, and his influences on the heart. It refers to those influences as a pledge of the future glories which await Christians in heaven. In regard to the “earnest,” or the part of a price which was paid in a contract, it may be remarked,

(1.) that it was of the same nature as the full price, being regarded as a part of it;

(2.) it was regarded as a pledge or assurance that the full price would be paid. So the “earnest of the Spirit” denotes that God gives to his people the influences of his Spirit; his operation on the heart as a part or pledge that all the blessings of the covenant of redemption shall be given to them. And it implies,

(1.) that the comforts of the Christian here are of the same nature as they will be in heaven. Heaven will consist of like comforts; of love, and peace, and joy, and purity begun here, and simply expanded there to complete and eternal perthetlon. The joys of heaven differ only in degree, not in kind, from those of the Christian on earth. That which is begun here is perfected there; and the feelings and views which the Christian has here, if expanded and carried out, would constitute heaven.

(2.) These comforts, these influences of the Spirit, are a pledge of heaven. They are the security which God gives us that we shall be saved. If we are brought under the renewing influences of the Spirit here; if we are made meek, and humble, and prayerful by his agency; if we are made to partake of the joys which result from pardoned sin; if we are filled with the hope of heaven, it is all produced by the Holy Spirit; and is a pledge or earnest, of our future inheritance–as the first sheaves of a harvest are a pledge of a harvest, or the first payment under a contract a pledge that all will be paid. God thus gives to his people the assurance that they shall be saved; and by this “pledge” makes their title to eternal life sure.

THINKING OUTSIDE OF THE SAME BOX IN WHICH ONE IS TRAPPED

One of the favorite tactics by any who wish to be known as a “Brave New Thinker” is an appeal to readers to”think outside of the box.”

By this, they frequently hint at the promise of presenting an idea from a NEW PERSPECTIVE or some other sort of FRESH or UNCONVENTIONAL way of looking at things.

Instead, what usually occurs is an exercise in semantics: mumbo-jumbo with a smile.

IN FACT, one of the reasons most of the “think outside of the box” guys talk so fast and fling bon mots so freely is to try to hide the tired old ideas they are peddling. Their formula usually consists of one part OLD IDEA, five parts fluff and filler, one part jokes, witticisms and so-called “inspirational quotes.”

IF one listens to the outside-the-box-thinkers speak for a brief length of time, one usually attains an appreciation that this crew has both feet firmly planted in the very box in which they insist they are thinking outside.

IF one listens to the outside-the-box thinkers for any longer length of time, one usually gets the sense the outside-the-box-thinkers not only have both feet IN the box, they are hopelessly chained to the box itself.

In other words, all of the NEW AGE blather one hears is anything but new.

And any movement which promotes itself using a buzzword (such as “fusion” or “quantum“), the reader can safely ascertain that there is something very old being dusted off and repackaged for the unwary.

When someone asks the reader to “think outside the box,” expect an old idea wrapped in bright shiny paper, a snow job, a slobbering of gobbledygook and a smile.

TODAY’S “FEUDS”

Everyone LOVES to hear and see DRAMA, right?

And what is more dramatic than an apparent feud among the beautiful people, right?

Particularly if the “feud” is between celebrities, politicos or royal nabobs?

IN FACT, the rich and celebrated almost never disagree: they engage in feuds–sometimes for decades after they have ceased being celebrated for anything else.

What would the beautiful people do with themselves if not for their never-ending feuds?

Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media) has always had a problem: what to do when too many of the rich and celebrated have NOTHING “newsworthy” to do. When the media gets tired of reporting what the rich and celebrated are wearing, they turn to the tried-and-true method of of fake “feuds” to generate cheap, plastic “news.”

One popular singer’s entire marketing campaign over the years seems to have been based on engaging in one “feud” after another. But, as the “victims” appear to be primarily the singer’s “fans,” it’s hard to get too worked up over the ruse.

Sports, politics and celebrity culture, European royalty–wherever the rich and celebrated congregate: these are the arenas where readers can most often find stories of “feuds.”

Oh–and pro wrestling…

One can depend on those who labor for the mystery of iniquity to act, in not only an EVIL manner, but also in a very repetitive one as well.

Case in point: when two followers of Satan are working together, one of the first things they do is establish that they 1-do not like each other; 2- they hate each other; or, 3- are fighting against one another.

IS GOD THE KING OF ALL GODS OR IS GOD THE ONLY GOD IN EXISTENCE?

A few verses which were discovered LAST WEEK led to the question featured in the headline.

The verses in question were:

“For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.”
–Psalm 95:3

“For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.”
–Psalm 135:3

NOW, the verses in question posed a conundrum for the believer.

God’s Word is NOT shy at declaring that God ALONE is a God and that He does NOT know of any other gods.

“I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. “
–Isaiah 45:5-6

IF that is not clear enough, there are the words of an earlier chapter of Isaiah: Isaiah 44:6.

“Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.”
–Isaiah 44:6

God’s Word is VERY clear that these images are NOT gods, but merely figments of man’s overactive imagination–EVEN AS certain men TREAT THEM AS GODS.

“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.”

God is CLEARLY more powerful than the most-worshiped idol on earth. The LORD is the ‘King’ of all those toy gods, fashioned by the hand of man.

Another reconciliation is that various men LOVE to have the praise and glory of other men for speaking DIRECTLY to a ‘god’ (idol). God is ALSO in charge of these semi-demi-hemi-gods: in that sense, He is ‘King’ of the pretender gods.

Lastly, God allows various men to call their playthings, ‘god.’ In this manner, God allows man to see just how POWERLESS such ‘gods’ are when the going gets tough.

There are NO other gods than God.

That comes straight from God’s Word, which is the ONLY truth available to men.

There are reasons OTHER than rhetoric for God allowing His people to call Him a “King of the Gods.”

The end times are a time of great deception.

CAN A PERSON WHO IS BORN AGAIN BE DECEIVED?

Jesus told about believers (those who have been SPIRITUALLY re-born) receiving God’s Holy Spirit, who would lead the believer into all truth.

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…”

Because it is written in God’s Word, we KNOW it to be TRUE.

So, IF the Holy Spirit guides a believer to all truth, how can a believer EVER be deceived?

Can the believer EVER be deceived?

Let’s look at what God’s Word has to say.

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will GUIDE you into all truth…”

God’s Word does NOT say the Holy Spirit will FORCE the truth upon a believer, only that it will GUIDE the believer to the truth.

So, the believer may choose to NOT believe the truth he has been guided to and choose to believe a lie.

Right?

Well, this MIGHT occur.

The believer, following after a lie, will be ‘nagged‘ by God’s Holy Spirit.

“That is NOT the truth! Think about it a little! That is a deception! Are you going to fall for a deception?”

EVENTUALLY, the believer is GUIDED to the TRUTH, which he accepts as the TRUTH.

While NOT a COMMON occurrence, it CAN happen this way (according to God’s Word).

What this means is that the believer MAY be deceived for a WHILE.

EVENTUALLY, the believer is GUIDED to the TRUTH, which he FINALLY accepts as the TRUTH.

Hopefully, this ALL takes place in a SHORT WHILE.

“How can the reader know when the Corporate Media is lying to him (never mind the fact that the media is Satan’s Mouthpiece and Satan is the father of lies)? One easy way to tell is the use of “Why” and “How” in the headlines of an article. When the reader sees “Why?” or “How?” in the headline–occasionally “What” is used–that which follows will be a fairy tale, a narrative, a bedtime story spun by the media for the benefit of the media’s master. “Why” usually denotes an on-going narrative; “How” signifies a story line which explains past events. Not all narratives begin with “How” or “Why.” However, the most in-your-face, over-the-top ones usually do. ALL political “news” is narrative.

Too Much Time in Air-Conditioning Is Warping Your Ability to Handle Heat– The government/media’s propaganda campaign against air conditioning has not relented. Sounds like AC for the masses will soon be a thing of the past.

From one year ago:

HOW America fell in love with crazy amounts of air conditioning – As far as media memes go, THIS is a johnny-come-lately. BUT, it is picking up steam quickly. This is the third article on this subject over the last week.

Apparently, the government/media is preparing the American masses for life without much electricity– which means no air conditioning in the summer.

We will see.

The end of the American Air Conditioned Age–at least for all but the wealthy, powerful and celebrated elites–is still a topic in the Corporate Media.

And little wonder: there will be precious little use for air conditioning where the masses of Americans are headed.

The reader is most likely able to guess why from the linked article below–all published over approximately the last two weeks. There were dozens more from which to pick.

NINE YEARS AGO

THE MEDIA’S RACIAL STRIFE MACHINE

Ferguson MO: Teen was prime suspect in strong-arm robbery – Ferguson MO is turning into another Trayon Martin-George Zimmerman fiasco.

The media MO is EXACTLY the same, right down to the initial releasing of a dishonest picture of the teen in question. First, video was released of the store incident. Then residents told CNN that the video was not of the dead teen.

NOW, even if the teen in question WAS a prime robbery SUSPECT, police still don’t have the right to gun down an unarmed black man.

BUT, as this entire event has been constructed to fire up black-white tensions, conflicting facts will continue to be dribbled out by the media over the next two-three weeks. First, facts which strengthen one side’s arguments; then, facts which strengthen the other side.

The method encourages both sides to “pick a side and dig in.”

In the meantime, there is real rage, a real person lies dead(?) and the police across the country are still junior military units ready to fight a war.

Media watchers recognize the media modus operandi as the same used in the Trayvon Martin media circus.

Experienced media watchers will recognize the same forces which were at work in the infamous OJ Simpson murder/trial 1994-95 media circus. For almost a year, blacks and whites were encouraged to pick sides and the media treated each side to a menu of conflicting facts. When the OJ verdict was finally announced on national TV, the differing reaction to the verdict of whites and blacks highlighted the media’s success of dividing along racial lines.

Before OJ, there was the Rodney King beating in 1991. Before King, there were many other media stories designed to divide along racial lines.

It has been a lesson the media has repeated and refined over the years.

The Corporate Media (Satan’s Mouthpiece) has long delighted in its presentation of these real-life moral dilemmas. They are presented in order to “demonstrate” that there are no moral absolutes.

MORAL DILEMMAS: There are No Moral Dilemmas

Moral dilemmas promote the idea that the line between right and wrong, good and evil, is a very blurry one.

The fact these events also divide along racial lines is a media two-fer.

The world is being prepared for the coming of the grand imposter.
