“For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.”

“What would you want if you could have anything in the world?”
A recent discussion centered around this question.
While most chose various costly things of the world–and a few chose intangible things like true love and/or happiness, there was one who maintained he could think of nothing he wanted or needed.
“But what if it was completely 100% FREE?”
Cost seemed to play a big part in this discussion.
“IF you could choose ANYTHING–anything at all?”
Still, the answer was nothing: the person could think of nothing.
Finally, the person was forced to choose or bow out of that conversation–and perhaps future ones as well.
“What? You don’t want to think? Well, you HAVE to pick something. That’s all there is to it. Think! Pick something!”
So, it was answered that IF something HAD to be picked, he would like a book which contained the wisdom of God, not man: a book one could read to learn about and obtain those things which were REALLY important.
This seemed to be a satisfactory answer.
So, it surprised some when a few moments later, the answer changed.
“Never mind.”
“What do you mean ‘Never mind’?”
“I have several of those books already. That book of wisdom is called the Bible.”
This last answer did nott seem to please many of those present.
But it did prompt a change of subject.
“For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God.”
–Ecclesiastes 2:26
WOULD the reader like an instruction manual for life?
DOES the wish he could own such a book?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
