The End Times World

Citizen of the world

It is helpful, from time-to-time, to take a step back and take a look at the world which surrounds end times man.

While the end times world shares similarities with the world which once existed, there are a GREAT MANY differences between the world man NOW inhabits and the world as it was several hundred years ago–in some cases, even just a few years ago.

A few aspects of the world now inhabited are temporary and will, at some point, return to the way of the world as it once was.

One such aspect is man’s locomotion: the way man moves himself and his goods from one point to another.

The world once utilized ANIMALS (horse, donkeys, mules, etc.) to perform such tasks.

NOW, end time man employs trucks and automobiles to do this work.  Cars are such a part of the modern end times life that most CANNOT or WILL NOT imagine life without such conveyances.

At some point in the near future, the end times world will return to a life of moving about by animal power OR one’s own feet.  Although modern man will be SHOCKED at this change in the way of doing things as he was accustomed, modern man will ADJUST to the change–most probably, will RAPIDLY adjust.

As they say, “Walking ain’t crowded.”

Another change which will take place is the elimination of air conditioning.  Whether this will be attributed to a change in the way man receives power or whether it will be chalked up to the story of climate change is unknown.

One other drastic change which is taking place is the replacement of transacting business face-to-face in favor of buying and selling via the Internet.

Where once the world–from its beginning–bought and sold in a particular way, the modern world wants man to buy and sell using ONLINE MEANS.  Before, man would secure a products from a seller, inspect it and, if the product met with his approval, paid the seller and departed with that product.

In the modern world, man looks at PICTURES of a PRODUCT, selects a product based on those pictures, which he HOPES will meet his requirements, has his method of payment examined AND APPROVED, and, after waiting a few days (or weeks), THEN is hopefully able to use the product he bought.

In this new method of buying and selling, man FIRST pays for a product (IF his method of payment is approved by the seller) and then HOPES the product he just purchased is what he needs.

This is a method of transacting business which is different from that which mankind has used since the beginning of mankind.

It is not all physical changes which are taking place: some of the intangibles are even NOW changing from the way many have grown used to experiencing.

At one time, BEFORE modern communication, the world contained a great many pockets of isolated humans. Whether that isle of isolation consisted of a desert, a verdant jungle or rainforest OR an actual island in the ocean, there were men who were separated from their fellows and who used their spare time to contemplate the world around them and how that world came to be.

This isolation could be viewed as a helpful one: man mentally explored his world and his place in that world.

While modern means of communication have eliminated many PHYSICAL locales of isolation, a MODERN form has rushed to take their place–in many cases, aided by that very same modern communication.

HOWEVER, this modern form of isolation is a SOCIAL one; a manner of being isolated EVEN IF SURROUNDED BY OTHERS.

This new shape of isolation seems to have contributed more to man’s FEARS and ANXIETIES–rather than to man’s more-positive outlook about his world.

ANYONE who has focused on the Internet OR who has immersed themselves in the world of computerized gaming will attest to eventual feelings of loneliness and isolation brought on by a concentration on either indulgence.

Where once the world appeared to have a large reservoir of “normality“–with abnormality confined to mostly LARGER CITIES and other URBAN CENTERS or particular civilizations–the modern world appears to honor “normality” as an exception, rather than a rule.

Where once the world moved at a much SLOWER pace–with changes taking YEARS (sometimes, CENTURIES) to institute–the modern world changes monthly, weekly, sometimes, DAILY.

Where once men consulted God’s Word for information about their world–even if such men were often just putting on a performance for others–the modern world not only IGNORES the information to be had from God’s Word, the modern world very often RIDICULES even the notion that good information can be obtained from that source.

So then, this seems to be the state of the modern world: LOTS of changes to the way man has operated since man first walked the earth–and those changes are passed off as IMPROVEMENTS to man’s life.  Any changes which cannot be hidden behind such happy stories are said to be “the price of progress.”

DOES the reader feel his world has changed?

DOES the reader feel these changes are for the better or for the worse?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
